Welcome. My name is Helen Counsel and I live in Australia. I create 1/12 scale miniatures.
Happy mini making!
Here is the bottom floor of my Mrs. Claus Gingerbread kitchen. The teddy bears workshop at the North pole. Most minis hand crafted by me.😊 Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
PS I have added 3 more closeup photos of this room as per a request from a follower.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Chrissie treats.
Merry Christmas to all my mini followers and friends.
Hello dear followers, not a lot has been happening in my mini making world over the past 12 months. It is the first anniversary tomorrow of my partners passing but getting there slowly.
On a bright note, I had a half page article published on my work in the "Miniature Time Traveller" magazine, issue 37 which is a New Zealand/Australian publication. Thank you to the editor and creative director Jill Fraser and her husband Roger who I met at the recent VAME show for the article. You can visit the web site for the latest blogs and projects: www.miniaturetimetraveller.com.
Happy miniaturing to all
Hi All
Hope you are all doing well and creating. Here are some photos of my trading table at the VAME show for 2023 with some new acrylic side stands and creations. Thanks to my good friend Lidya for her assistance over the weekend, her company and for the great photos. Cheers
UPDATE: It's been quite a few months since I last posted. I have had a very sore Thumb & wrist for a few months and every time I would try to make a mini the pain and trigger finger of my Thumb made it nearly impossible to finish anything to a decent level. After a visit to the Dr on Monday and an electrogram yesterday I have unfortunately been diagnosed with Carpel Tunnel. Not sure what I will do at this stage. Luckily enough, due to Covid I have plenty of stock which I made when I hibernated at home for almost 2 years so I will still be at the VAME show in come 15th & 16th of July at the Mount Waverley Community Centre, Victoria. Hope to see some of you there. Drop by and say hello and 10% off any purchases for those of you who mention this page. Cheers
Hi
I hope your Christmas and New Year bought you Joy and contentment. This is my first minis in a few months. Slowly getting back into the swing of things. An Advent calendar kit which is a bit late for 2022 Christmas. Some parts of the kit are laser cut. Materials and papercraft came with the kit. You needed to assemble the majority of the kit. I have added extra minis to make it my own eg. the Doona, extra red pillow, Santa picture, buckles on Santas boots, additional presents, curtains, pelmet, sign, candy canes and gingerbread man on the plate, the coffee was made using light cured UV resin and brown paint and the Elf on the shelf made with polymer clay. It was a fun project that gave me focus during a very difficult time. Kind regards to you all.
" Merry Christmas" from my house to yours!
A Poinsettia Wreath in Polymer clay my first mini months.
Just letting you all know that I'm taking a short break from mini making. I recently lost my partner and getting use to a different way of life, it is such a surreal feeling. Any current miniature orders will of course be finished, However not taking on any new orders at this stage. Thank you

The annual VAME show (Victoria, Australia) is done and dusted for another year. Thank you to my very abled assistant and good friend Lidya who also took the photo. It was a most successful trading weekend, with Gingerbread houses and Trains being the most popular. Thank you also to all my revisiting customers and the new mini buyers. Thank you to VAME organisers and volunteers for another great show. Hope to see everyone again next year.
So I've been busy baking over the past few weeks getting ready for the mini show here in Melbourne, Australia. This is about third of what I have actually made. All made from polymer clay in 1:12 scale including all the canes.
Left back row Meringue Cake, Chocolate Cake, Pink tiered Sprinkle Cake, Lemon Curd Cheese Cake,
Middle Row, Christmas log, Croissants, Pavlova, Roast Chicken
Front Row, Cupcakes, Scones with Cream and Jam, Roast Chicken with Potatos and Pumpkin and finally Stacked Pancakes with Strawberries and Blueberries.
Finished a Picnic Hamper Basket new design. Made using Heavy Card, Burlap ribbon & rope, Leather off cuts, studs, Gingham Tablecloth, Including the making of Poly clay food. A French Baguette, Beef Pastrami, Edam Cheese, Red Delicious Apples, Mandarins, Cornish Pasties and a sweet Tart and a knife made from a Dental toothpick.
A feast to delight our little people.
I've been a busy beaver over the past few weeks getting ready for the VAME fair (despite a bout of Vertigo) making a few Cheese, fruit, Bread & Wine boards, whilst also completing orders. I still have to adjust some crooked bits that the camera caught but only minor issues. The only minis pieces I didn't make were two of the glasses and one knife.
Calla Lilies made with Polymer clay in 1:12 scale. Gone to a good home in IOWA, USA
Finished last night Pink Rose Bouquet in polymer clay 1:12 scale.
