Over the Australian Day weekend, Angus Olsen together with other recipients visited Canberra to receive his Local Hero Award in the 2024 Australian of the Year ceremony.

A Katoomba cafe owner and former Disney cartoonist, Angus gained recognition for his contributions in illustrating and writing about childhood cancer, as well as distributing his work without charge.
