Giving back to our community is something that is really important to us. We try to support various causes, groups and events wherever we can, and the Tanunda Show is no exception.

Local shows rely on the hard work and dedication of selfless volunteers, as well as support from the broader community. They simply would not happen otherwise. 🫶🏻

At tonight’s show launch, we donated a magnum of our 2023 Riesling - it’s a cracker wine (in our humble opinion) sourced from a single vineyard since 2011, and is one of our most reliable performers.

We were absolutely stoked to see this lot make $500 for the show! We know this will be a great help during a challenging year. Many thanks to .mui for your support 🙏🏻 please feel free to give us a shout if you need help drinking it 😉🥂

Recently we were humbled to be invited by Huon Hooke to submit our 2022 Barossa Mataro and 2022 Barossa Mataro Rosé for the 2023 Global Fine Wine Challenge. Exclusive to the nations of the New World, this challenge is accessible by invitation only and is restricted to the top 120 wines of each country competing – Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and the USA.

We don't tend to enter many (any) wine shows, but just being invited to this one is in itself like being selected for the Olympics, so you can imagine our joy at being awarded a gold medal for the Mataro - a wine which as most of you know, is very close to our hearts.

Since 2009 we have been making a varietal Mataro, and this is quite simply the best Mataro we have made. It’s a testament to the Hampel family and their little patch of Old Vine Mataro at Kalimna, in the Barossa’s northern end.

For over a decade now we have been working with the Hampels and this particular block, which is the sole source for the 2022 Mataro. It’s one of the oldest plantings of Mataro in the world, and this medal repays Tim's faith in this wine, and their work in this block.
