Beginning the School Year With a Consistent Communication Plan Effective communication with parents and students is essential and should be established at the start of the school year.
Great idea!
Such a relief to have this available for everyone. A great deal of personal and professional reflection needed to grasp the new thinking. PLC’s are really helpful for this.
We can't express how essential Professional Learning Communities (PLC) are for school culture, climate and growth. Not sure where to begin?? Excellent capture of the relationship between our brains and body sensations! Dr Lori Desuatels does this so well.
This is about the kindness of strangers and friends. You can see from the rain radar that things are pretty grim weatherwise in Hawkes Bay in NZ where I am for work (which has been postponed). I made it from Whakatane yesterday afternoon/evening to Gisborne in torrential rain and wind, only to stuff my driver-side front tyre by driving over a gutter I couldn't see in the rain and wind. This happened at a BP service station and the staff there (Ben and Fionn) could not do enough for me (including hot chocolate while Ben changed my tyre). A restorative colleague (DP at Gisborne Girls High School, Bindy Hannah) rescued me off the streets and now I'm here safe and sound while the roads are closed and flights are cancelled. I may just go back to bed, and contemplate the kindness of others, known and unknown. We need more of it in this world.
A happy podcast about our new book. Apologies for the dreadful wifi connection at my end!
