While most people have heard of acne, few have heard of acne inversa β or hidradenitis suppurativa. This is a debilitating condition involving painful pustules under your arms and breasts or around your groin. It can have a significant impact on your skin and your mental health.
π You can contribute to new treatments for this condition by joining a clinical trial: https://loom.ly/rlxDccg

Weβre joining Hidradenitis Suppurativa Awareness Week π to support patients with this chronic inflammatory skin condition, which affects about 1% of the population and is 3 times more common in women than men.
Hidradenitis suppurativa β also called acne inversa β leads to boil-like bumps and abscesses that most commonly appear in the hair roots near sweat glands under your armpits or breasts or in your groin. If those bumps become infected, pockets of pus form under the skin, which can lead to pain, odour and scarring.
Weβre not yet sure what causes HS but suspect it involves an interplay between your genes, hormones and environment.
π Help us find better treatments for HS by joining a clinical trial. Learn more at https://loom.ly/g8mPRpE

Struggling with hair loss? Considering hair transplantation as an option?
Here's what you need to know before taking the plunge:
π The procedure involves taking hair follicles (grafts) from a donor area on the scalp and transplanting them onto the bald or thinning areas.
π At Sinclair Dermatology, we use the Follicle Unit Extraction technique (FUE) β the hair transplant practitioner will remove individual grafts from the scalp using a drill and a punch trephine.
π You will be assessed by the doctor to find out if youβre eligible for the procedure.
π It may take up 9 months to start seeing results.
π A hair transplant doesn't cure hair loss.

Copper peptides have surged in popularity within the beauty industry due to their health benefits. They have been found to help with:

If you havenβt experienced results from using medications prescribed for treating hair loss, there is another option that can be explored.... a hair transplant.
Hair transplantation involves taking hair follicles (grafts) from another area of your scalp and transplanting them into the bald or thinning areas.
Here are a few things to keep in mind if youβre considering the procedure:
π You will need to be assessed by a specialist doctor to assess your suitability for a hair transplant
π Hair transplants can take up to 9 months for results to appear
π A hair transplant does not cure hair loss, and additional treatments before and after the procedure may be recommended

There is no better season to spend time outdoors than summer! But if you have acne-prone skin, the heat can trigger acne. βοΈ
When sweat combines with the natural oils on your skin and bacteria, it can lead to pore congestion and breakouts. We recommend these simple steps to prevent acne this summer:
π Gently blot sweat from your face using a clean towel
π Wash sweaty clothes, hand towels, and hats before using them
π Opt for non-comedogenic products (products that donβt clog your pores) on your face
