I was chatting with one of my wonderful clients today about how exercise can help prevent and even reverse osteoporosis, and I came up with this simple story. 📖
Imagine your bones as a busy construction site, where two types of cells—osteoblasts and osteoclasts—work together to keep your body strong. Osteoblasts are like the "builders," adding strength, while osteoclasts are the "demolition crew," responsible for taking things down.
Now, sometimes this teamwork hits a rough patch, which can lead to potential problems. Picture the osteoblasts taking a break now and then, letting the osteoclasts call the shots. This uneven partnership can result in osteoporosis, like a construction site falling behind on repairs and becoming unstable.
But here's the clever part: there's a hidden way to energize the osteoblasts and make your bones stronger. We challenge our bones by using our muscles as the driving force, much like a friendly nudge. 🏋️♂️
