We were delighted to see so many ALUCA members in Sydney for our speakers Paul Bennell - ALUCA Claims Group Deputy Chair who interviewed Kristy Thomas from Feel the Magic, followed by Alicia Gibbs - ALUCA Rehabilitation Group Chair who interviewed Tony Cassidy from Lifeline Australia.
It was great to hear how volunteering can not only help the community, but also fulfil a deeper sense of purpose and help you grow in your professional career too!

** YALUCA Launches Thought Leadership Paper **
ALUCA is thrilled to release our latest thought leadership paper 'The War for Talent: Attracting, Retaining and Upskilling the Life Insurance Workforce'.
According to KPMG, in 2023, 77% of industry leaders rank attracting and retaining talent above other concerns like cyber risks, digital transformation, regulation and flexible workplaces. Written by the Young ALUCA 35 years and Under (YALUCA) Group to assist all areas of the life insurance sector, this thought leadership paper delves into the current motivations of young life insurance employees, successful methods of staff attraction and retention and where the opportunities for change may lie.

This year the theme is . Max Simensen will share his unique and eye-opening perspective as a trans man on how gender is experienced from two different “gender” lenses, having insights from being assigned female at birth and socialised as a woman until transitioning when he was 17. Max will share some surprising observations after living in two very different worlds.
This event is open to everyone regardless of gender.

There are still 10 Life Insurance Excellence Award Categories – with 4 individual awards and 6 team awards.
The David Mico Award criteria has been changed from education to industry - merging both the volunteer hero award and education award. This award is for those that continue to invest in their ongoing professional development and education and give back to the industry.
The 2 new team categories include the Partnership Impact Award and Best Technology Award.
