The end of our trip was a few days in Madrid.
A day spent at the magnificent Parque de El Retiro. before a grueling 2 days traveling home
They say its about the journey not the destination but the destination was pretty spectacular too. With more than 1500 pilgrims from all walks ending here each day the Cathedral square at Santiago de Compostalla is filled with such Joy, New friends, Stories & Memories.
started 28th Sept-9th Oct. 12 days & 30km about 400,000 steps. It was fun and rewarding in one of those challenging ways π
1/ Mandatory to take yr photo at the Cathedral when you finish
2/ The Cathedral at night
3/ Pilgrim mass is given everyday at noon. A fitting conclusion enjoying the spectacle that is a full Catholic mass and yes it is grand but the rest of the builing is quite basic and simple.
Some more of the past 12 days. Still no major olives. not even with our bread at dinner π
1/ Andrew trying to get out of walking
2/ In streets of Pontevedre in the esrly.morning
3/ Catching some before afternoon bennies
4/ Andrew is normally the one attacked my Mozzies. They have got me and l must admit is greatly inconvenient and itchy π
5/ On the Spiritual varient these are/were used a grain silo's
6/ We do more than follow the yellow brick road. A humble direction marker on a stand or a yellow arrow placed in an abscure location on a corner to lead the way
7/ A predawn surprise of one of many magnificent structures
1/ Maybe the reason walking in Portugal is so relaxing for us is the amount of Gum trees. walking around a corner and the familiar woft drifting to us in anticipation.
It was the blackwood, Wattle abd Banksia that did surprise us seeing them growing here and there
2/ Olives may be scarce but they are big (l reckon the were probably removed by farmers)
3/ A perfect speciman tree
4/ even on a wall abd tippy toes l wouldbt reach the top of this beauty
1/ Ponte de Lima, my fav town to now. 1st centuary bridge
2/ The Moors (who were resonsible for the discovery of olive oil soaps) sadly did lots of bad amongst all the good. The tiles are original from the 7-8th centurary and are synonymous to the Moors architecture.
3/ This town was once walled and one of the original walls
1/ Starting early is the norm for us and the group we in the groove with to beat the heat. No stars but the north star and full moon to guide us. We are also 99.9% sure it was a wolf kindly crossed our path in the dim early morning light (numbers down to 2-300 population in the area of country)
2/ We may avoid the heat but the pathed paths and roads cannot be avoided anywhere on the central camino.
3/ It may be hard on the feet but we are now in lovely areas away from roads.
4/ We were a little shocked that it took until day 4 to see our first Olive grove.
We have learnt that all oil here is grown for expert and they use it for cooking in Portugal and to date not 1 pure oil soap on our trail
Our Camino adventure begins tomorrow
1/ from our accommodation in Porto.
2/ train station in Porto Sau Bento . was converted from a convent 1916.
3/Start of Camino at Cathedral
Day 1 Porto. All l can say is what a beautiful city. The Architecture is incredible.
starting walk tomorrow

Effective herbs for liver health....
πΏ Dandelion: This isn't just an annoying w**d. Dandelion, a potent cholagogue, supports both the liver and gallbladder. Especially important if you don't have a gallbladder.
πΏArtichokes: Pop a bit of artichoke leaf into your hot water for a detoxifying brew.
πΏ Sticky W**d: This garden annoyance, when not treated with chemicals, can be quite the detoxer. You can toss its leaves into a salad with an oil-based dressing. Its slight bitterness is fantastic for liver health.

π Vitamin D, our "inner sunshine," can't be manufactured by our bodies and the cold and dark days can really eat into those happy hormones.
Here are some quick tips to lift your spirits:
βοΈ Consider Vitamin D Supplementation
Naturopathic levels often lean towards the higher side. Daily intake of around 2-3,000IU of a quality Vitamin D supplement (bonus if it contains K2) can help.
βοΈ Embrace the Morning Sun
On sunnier days, make a morning ritual of soaking up the rays. It resets your circadian rhythm and gifts you a mini mood boost!
βοΈ Skin Rejuvenation
Revitalise your skin with our Spearmint exfoliating soap or a dry brushing session and follow with our Lavender & Sandalwood or Manuka Honey Lotions for deep skin nourishment!

π Tasmanian Tea Tree, scientifically known as Kunzea ambigua, is a native Australian plant found predominantly in the cooler coastal areas of Australia's southern states, including Tasmania.
π It's known for its unique therapeutic properties and the essential oil derived from this plant has a clean, fresh, and invigorating aroma.
π Traditional uses of Kunzea oil include relief from skin irritations, minor burns, insect bites, and muscle pain. It's also often used in aromatherapy for its calming effects.
You'll find Kunzea in our Tasmanian Tea Tree Liquid Castile.
Liquid Castile - Tasmanian Tea Tree (kunzea) - Olive & Ash This liquid Castile soap is made from pure ingredients, including essential oil from the Kunzea Anua β a tea tree indigenous to Tasmania. Natural antibacterial properties will leave your hands, face, body and hair and home perfectly clean.
βββββ"I have used other brands of Liquid Castile soaps, but I love how yours has so much olive oil and not bulked with lots of coconut or especially palm so does not leave the waxy feeling others do and it doesnβt block the pump either. I love it in the shower but also use it to make my cleaning products out of it and know that I am truly limiting the amount of chemicals in my home.' - Judy
