🎉 Tips for Successful Tummy Time:
Start Early: Begin tummy time from the first week, a few minutes at a time.
Use Props: Lay your baby on a soft blanket or a tummy time mat. Dr Megan and Matt's babies loved being up on the portable change mat on the kitchen bench so they could look around! Don't leave them alone up on the bench though!!!

👶 Engage and Encourage:
Get down on the floor with your baby to keep them company.
Use toys or a mirror to make tummy time fun and engaging.

🌟 Be Patient and Consistent:
Gradually increase tummy time as your baby gets stronger.
Consistency is key! Make tummy time a regular part of your daily routine.

🗣This month we have been discussing the vagus nerve and it's role in managing our stress states and our health outcomes.

🫨If our nervous systems become dysregulated through multiple traumas (emotional or physical) our bodies may react by causing complex physical and emotional disorders - such as digestive issues, chronic pain, depression or PTSD.

🥰Connecting with people who are in a SAFE regulated state in their nervous system helps - your nervous system with MIMIC their nervous system state. This is called CO-REGULATION.

Wait... Why are we sharing the mis-adventures of three 40-something blokes?

Because research strongly suggests that social connection is a core psychological need, essential to feeling satisfied with your life. We are are actually a very social species!

But not only that. We also need plenty of vitamin D which is shown to significantly impact inflammation in the body.

One of Dr Matt's friends has flown across halfway the world, to escape winter in his home country and enjoy some Aussie sunshine.

Vitamin D is also important for moods!

Have you already heard of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)? It's a type of depression that's related to changes in seasons and for people who experience it, this begins and ends at about the same time every year.

As we move into our cooler months with shorter days, from the beginning of Autumn and continuing into our Winter months, you might feel sapped of your energy and even a little moody. Typically these symptoms resolve during the spring and summer months.

But why risk it?

Make sure you're getting both this Autumn - amazing social connection which lights you up AND adequate vitamin D.

😮‍💨 Struggling with neck pain? Here are three tips to find relief and improve your comfort:

1️⃣ Reset Your Posture: Lying on a tool like a Posture Pole at the end of the day can help to reset the flexor/stress posture you’ve got yourself into throughout the day at work and also tells your nervous system to calm down.

2️⃣ Breathing Exercises: Another way to reset your nervous system which is causing that shoulder tension and neck pain is to regularly practise breathing exercises during your day at work. One of these is Double Ratio Breathing - breathe in for 4 seconds and out for 8 seconds, or double whatever you breathe in.

3️⃣ Spinal Adjustments: seeing your chiropractor to relieve tension in the neck and at the base of the neck can help with alignment, muscle tension and also reset and calm down that stress state.💆‍♂️💆‍♀️
