Regrettably we're unable to run any activities this weekend including our VBCF X TRAVERSE HOTHAM 50% OFF special tours due to inadequate snow and weather conditions. Our Japan season has kicked off with a white Christmas - get in touch if you're keen for a northern hemisphere ski odyssey that's not too far and with plenty of cultural experiences thrown in. It's not too late - plenty of availability for late Winter/Spring (the best time for Nordic BC touring)!

We're done for season 2022 - it's been full tilt all the way, a nice change from the previous two years! Our sincere thanks to all who have booked a lesson/experience with us and/or supported us in other ways especially Hoys Skis P/L and Mt Hotham resort management.

Discover trails less travelled...
Traverse Hotham is dedicated to introducing more people to the joys of cross country (XC) skiing and snowshoeing in our magnificent alpine environment. No lift tickets, no queues, no crowds - discover trails less travelled and escape to a whole other world out there!
Where possible we apply a tour teaching methodology - subject to skier ability and snow conditions, the aim is to learn basic and/or improved XC ski techniques while discovering some of the scenic groomed trails Hotham Alpine Resort and Dinner Plain have to offer. Perhaps skiing isn’t for you? Snowshoeing is an easy way to get out among the snowgums and appreciate the beauty of our high country away from the crowds.
Scheduled cross country ski (XC) lessons operate Wednesdays and Saturdays at Hotham plus Mondays and Thursdays at Dinner Plain. Our scheduled ‘Intro to cross country’ beginner lesson is great for those coming across from other alpine pursuits or who may have tried XC before - if you’ve never slid on skis of any kind at all, we recommend booking a private ‘Absolute Beginner’ lesson to get started. For something more relaxed, immerse yourself in magnificent alpine views on top of the world with a Sunset Snowshoe Experience operating Wednesdays and Saturdays out of Hotham Central.
Private and bespoke XC ski, Nordic backcountry ski tours and snowshoe adventures covering various levels of ability and terrain around Hotham and Dinner Plain are also available by arrangement. Get a group of eight or more together for a guided snowshoe experience and enjoy 20% off – don’t forget snowshoes hire is included!
