The value of an experienced business finance broker:

An existing client was importing an expensive & specialised piece of equipment from Germany. We had completed a similar transaction 5 years ago, ( a bit more money involved last time) using a Documentary Letter of Credit with a Chattel lease take out upon arrival.

However, on this occasion the German supplier had transhipped part of the gear earlier, upon receipt of a deposit from the client, this then meant the duplication of the earlier transaction was not possible due to the Bill of Lading & other documents not matching.

In conjunction with the bankers (a major bank) alternative finance was offered, using the Australian Government SME Recovery Loan Scheme.

Advantages for client;
- No need for real property security
- No upfront fees
- No costly International Trade bank fees
- Cheaper Interest rate
- Better term repayments; no Balloon
- The transaction settled within the time frames.

As well as the savings & successful completion for the client outlined above, as I remained involved in the transaction throughout, I was able to have the Bank offer a wholesale FX Euro A$ rate which saved the client $6k on their across the counter quote.
