One of the things I see & hear the most when people view my artwork is 'wow, you are so talented' or 'how lucky are you to be born with such talent'. Whilst myself, and likewise many other artists in this position, we all nod politely and say thank you, inside we all feel the same. We feel a little deflated.

Whilst some are born with a natural affinity, capability or even a passion for something (this is what is often referred to as raw talent) it does not mean we will automatically be great at that thing. Behind every great 'talent' and mixed in with their desire there are years & years of practice, dedication, blood, sweat and often many (many) tears. Did I mention the word practice in there at all? ;)

If you want to do something then you can. Never let anyone tell you that you can't. Every day I teach absolute beginners how to embrace their own creative and I can take that person who says they cannot draw a stick man and show them all the techniques and tools to make them into a great artist too. But, in the end it is up to them as to how much practice they undertake to truly become a master.

Never thought I'd be celebrating Zombie Fish in Victoria.

But here we are.

The southern purple-spotted gudgeon, as they're officially known, were declared extinct in 1998.

A few survivors were discovered last year, and now hundreds of the native fish have been released into Bendigo wetlands.

It's all thanks to a local captive breeding program.

And they've officially brought these fish back from the dead.

Why should we pay cash everywhere with banknotes instead of a card ?

- I have a $50 banknote in my pocket. Going to a restaurant and paying for dinner with it.

The restaurant owner then uses the bill to pay for the laundry.

The laundry owner then uses the bill to pay the barber.

The barber will then use the bill for shopping.

After an unlimited number of payments, it will still remain a $50 value, which has fulfilled its purpose to everyone who used it for payment and the bank has jumped dry from every cash payment transaction made.

BUT

IF I come to a restaurant and pay digitally via Card,

- the bank fees for my payment transaction charged to the seller are 3%, so around $1.50

( and so will be the fee of $1.50 for each further payment transaction )

-for the owner re laundry or
- payments of the owner of the laundry shop,
- or payments of the barber etc.....

Therefore, after 30 transactions, the initial $50 will exist at only $5 and the remaining $45 has become the property of the bank … thanks to all of the digital transactions and fees!

Use it or lose it folks…

Once it’s gone we won’t get it back!

Cash is king!

UPDATE: Tulip has been Adopted 30.11.22 💟🐶

Adorable Tulip is a beautiful young Staffy X girl who came to us via a member of the public who found her wandering, and kept her for a few hours in the hopes of finding her people. When she was finally brought to us, he said she was a "beautiful dog who just loved his kids". We think she's around 6 months old and she weighs 16.8 kg with a bit more growing to do.

A soft, sweet girl, she's waiting for her new family in our Hobart Home so please use the link below to book an appointment to meet available dogs at our Hobart Home if you'd like to adopt her - just remember as dogs are adopted throughout the day we can't guarantee any particular dog will be there when you visit.

Love this 🍎 🍏

In Norway, when people see that there is an excess of apples on their trees, they do this kind of action so others can pick them and consume them instead of rotting on the ground. Beautiful 👏👏

Great news Tassie! 💙🙌

Hobart has been named one of the world's top 10 destinations people want to visit next year, alongside São Paulo in Brazil and Bolzano in Italy!

As the only down-under location to make the list, Hobart is expecting a bumper tourism season this summer, with our state continuing to be recognised as one of the most wild and beautiful places on earth.

Let us chat to you about Freckles - a young girl who has been in our care for over 100 days.... why? .....

There is a few reasons why we can see that Freckles will take longer then others to find a home...

She is just out of the kittens stage, she is not the most appealing colour to everyone (she is to us), she can come across concerned on the first meet and greet but it is not because she doesn't like you but she cant see as well as those who have full sight from both eyes...
She is reserved around young children.....

How can we help her find a home quicker?

we need your help.....

can you share her story on your page?

Can we find someone willing to foster to adopt her, this means they take her home on a long term trial to see if she would fit in, if it doesn't work out - no worries she comes back, however you have given her a great opportunity to be out of the shelter environment....

Freckles is a young 12 month old girl who was found injured, she was brought into us for help.
Freckles had some grazes which healed quickly, and although she is likely partially blind in one eye, it hasn't let that stop her from being thankful for a second chance......
Freckles went into foster care, to build her confidence and trust in people, and did really well.... While she loves all the chin scratches, belly rubs and head boops you can give, she would prefer her four paws on the floor.

Freckles has a super playful side and often she is seen chasing something under tables, or through chairs. She had adapted well to other cats but due to her lack of eye sight if they appear from nowhere she does get startled...

Freckles doesn't react to loud or sudden noises, but quick moving children worry her, again this is due to her eye sight, so a home without younger children would be best. She adores food, but who doesn't....And treats are the way to her heart, and those purry belly rubs.

Freckles will need a little time to adjust in a new environment, and is seeking a kind and patient human slave to go home with. She is litter trained, very well behaved, and be by your side watching Netflix in no time!
Come and meet her at our Longford Adoption Centre.
