Choosing organic cotton matters. Conventional cotton is considered one of the dirtiest crops in the world, using just 2.4% of the world's cultivated land, but 6% of the world's pesticides and 16% of the world's insecticides. Organic cotton is produced without these chemicals, which is better for the people who produce the cotton, better for the environment, and ultimately better for us, too.

We sell clothes with ethical values.
Fashion is one of the most polluting industries in the world. We started Well Made Clothes because we care deeply about fashion, but we also care deeply about minimising the environmental and human impacts our purchasing decisions have.
The heart of Well Made Clothes is our Well Made Clothes Values system: Fair; Sustainable; Transparent; Vegan; Local; Minimal Waste; Handcrafted; and Gender Equaly. For a label to be sold on Well Made Clothes it must meet the environmental and human rights standards of our Code of Conduct and the requirements of at least 1 of our 8 Well Made Clothes Values.
For a label to meet our Sustainable value, for example, it must make at least 80% of its products from sustainable materials. When we talk about 'sustainable', we're not just talking about ‘natural’, either. We're talking about organic textiles, transition cotton, certified closed loop viscose, recycled polyester and nylon, recycled cotton, and h**p. To meet this value labels may also be using low-impact dyes or be climate neutral.
Ultimately, we provide information about, and the ability to shop, clothes with ethical values.
