Over the years I’ve found my passion restoring old furniture. It’s so therapeutic for me. I can lose hours! Sewing has been my main creative outlet, with this coming in as a strong runner up.
This is my most recent refurb and I decided to branch out on the colour scheme (Yes I know I’m missing a door knob…I need to hike back to Kmart!). I also had a little help from my eldest who likes to roll his sleeves up.

Maybe a new business venture?…who knows! But perhaps not anytime in the near future. Motherhood, work and study have my full attention…oh and the dog, cat and 7 chickens 😂😂🤪

We bunkered down in the aircon yesterday and my creative flare kicked in! From an idea, to a doodle, came to life ‘Baby Buddie’!

The last 6 weeks have been testing to say the least, as I settle back into the world of Uni.
Thank you to my wonderful customers for your patience whilst I navigate and settle in to my groove of Uni, work, and motherhood! Schedules have saved my life 😂

I am currently in between units so I have a two week break. What better way is there to spend it other than sewing? 🤩

Evie asked me to make her new PJs, and with her help choosing the fabric we came up with a new listing: Dragonfly Wishes PJs. Combining short sleeves with long pants because, you know, Warrnambool can be hot one minute and cold the next!

I’ve been a tad quiet on the social media front, and will continue to be for the next little while until I get my bearings.
I’ve rejoined the world of Uni and I’ve hit the ground running.
I’m going to continue sewing because it’s the love of my life…(after my husband and children of course!) and it’s my “me” time.

**Choosing your fabric**

Is it important?….YES!!

Depending on your skill level and your project, choosing the right fabric to work with is ‘sew’ important 🤭 (along with the right needle, but that’s another post!)

For example: Silk may require a more advanced sewing level because it’s lightweight and ‘slippery’ meaning it can shift through a sewing machine. Whereas cotton is one of the easiest to sew with because it doesn’t slip and can be cut and pinned with ease.

There are many reasons why I prefer to work with 100% cotton fabrics. It’s natural, it doesn’t irritate the skin, it’s soft and very comfortable.

I have a little one that suffers with eczema so choosing breathable clothing is paramount for a comfortable night sleep!

But there are many pros and cons for each fabric and a little research goes a long way.

I’m madly prepping and building stock for the .markets. Time is ticking away ⏰

Don’t panic! I’m not going anywhere!

From Saturday 29th July I’m going to work hard for a couple of weeks to build up my stock in preparation for the summer markets (yes this includes some Christmas goodies!) 🤩

Working part time, having 3 children AND with the constant flow of orders doesn’t make it easy to plan for anything extra!

So I will be putting a pause on orders just so I can get ahead, but will be back again from Saturday 12th August.

There’s still 3 days left to put in an order, and I will post a reminder later in the week ✌️ 🌈
