Looking back! A great night called for a power suit 💚

The Gillin Boys Foundation Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Warrnambool is delighted to announce that $3312.86 was raised from the 2023 Gillin Boys Telethon. This year we changed it up a bit by incorporating a live audience with a mix of live & pre-recorded performances, we didn't really know what to expect so to raise $3312.86 gives us a good platform to build on for next year. Thank you to The Whalers Hotel, Duke's Commercial Hotel Koroit, Warrnambool RSL, Rafferty's Tavern & Flying Horse Bar & Brewery for streaming the show & having donation tins available. Special shout out to The Whalers Hotel for also having a raffle & donating a percentage from schooner & cocktail sales on the day which added up to $500. Thank you also to Pinkys Pizza Warrnambool for donating $1 from every pizza sold last Friday which added up to $200. Thank you to everyone that made a donation or attended the event we are constantly blown away by the support we receive from the local community & afar, we hope you enjoyed the show & will come back again next year to help us grow this event. Thank you Aidan Freeman Photography & Rodney Harris Photography for coming along to capture some amazing photos. A telethon wouldn't be a telethon without the music, so thank you Russell Morris, Kasey Chambers, Adam Brand & Matt Cornell, Rick Price, Eskimo Joe, Diesel for sending pre-recorded performances & thank you Michael Ferguson, Tom Richardson, Wade Northcott, Mitch + Jackson for joining us to perform live. Thank you Aidan Nicolson - MC & Comedian for keeping everyone entertained during the ad breaks & throughout the night. Thank you Liam Fitzgerald, Sharna Rogers & Christopher Gillin for once again hosting the show. Last but definitely not least we need to say a MASSIVE thank you to the entire Fitzmedia Productions team for the ENORMOUS amount work they put in for weeks leading up to the event & on the night to produce the telethon, it's a huge undertaking from a small team that we really appreciate.

ABOUT LAST NIGHT: I haven’t had time to thank everyone for the feedback about last nights broadcast of the Warrnambool & District Football Netball League, while there was four of us there last night (two crew driving it) there was a lot of work done by Mitch and Tom to get the graphics made and commercials produced.

A special shout out to Junior, (Alex) who was thrown. Curve ball after curve ball as late as 10 mins before we went live, and while some parts of the show didn’t work out the way we had hoped, he was able to keep a cool head and keeping his composure under some immense pressure.

Also a big shout out to 3YB FM/Coast FM’s Lachy Rooke for joining me as co-host. I love working with him and it was great to have someone to help present the show.

Also, Sharna, she was crew last night not on camera, and her dedication to working within different parts of our business continues to be a huge help.
