These are the VERY basic sketches I created to communicate my design to my manufacturer.

When I started Sundae Soda I didn’t know what the heck I was doing. I have zero contacts in the industry, I had never been to a design college or worked in the fashion industry.

What I have learnt! You don’t have to be an amazing artist to be a designer. You don’t need to know everything about your industry to start. You just need to have a clear vision and believe in yourself. You CAN do anything!

Note to self: figure out your fears, kick them in the teeth and get back to it!

Does your little babe wear a long sleeve swimsuit?

They basically make your life much easier. They protect your little loves skin from the harmful UV rays, AND you don’t need to wrestle your child to lather them in suncream on their arms and back 🙌🏼

I feel all the feels when I see one of my swimsuits out and about.

Creating an item from scratch entails a lot of back and fourth. Emails, sketches, samples, major and minor tweaks and adjustments. It took 2 years of constant correspondence with my wonderful manufacturer and production manager to get to a product that I was happy with. It is always such a surprise and a proud moment for me seeing my creation out in the public, being enjoyed by the little people wearing them.
