Beyond Beauty
Now on the road to finding quality, effective yet affordable skincare and makeup solutions 🥰
Every now and then I do something really stupid and let me tell you I can get a headache just rolling my eyes at myself 🙄🤕
We all know that I am not running a business here nor do I intend to, so why on earth am I running a business page 🤷🏼♀️
Seriously all I’m doing is making extra work for myself and to be honest I really don’t think the whole world needs to see what I’m fluffing on about 🙃🤨
So I’m sorry for dragging you all over the place…..again but I still have my private Beyond Beauty group and it’s open for all of you to join if you want to.
I’ll pop the link here 👇🏻 and hopefully I’ll see you on the other side 🫶🏻

What’s your family’s favourite meal you make?
🍽️😋
OK
I’ve decided I deserve a little getaway this year, not looking to go until October but thought I’d put it out there into the universe and ask for any suggestions.
Either Bali or Phuket
Walking distance to a beach
Doesn’t need to be a luxury hotel but it does need to be clean
Any recommendations?
🏖️
Yesterday the world lost an amazing woman who became a fashion icon in her 80s after a long career in textiles and interior design, including working with over 9 Presidencies in the White House!
She lived a big, bold, bright and colourful life and shared her confidence building ideas right up until yesterday.
I am just one of millions she would have inspired in her 102 years.
RIP

What’s your favourite skincare product?
🌷🌷🌷🌷
What can you get done in 10 minutes ⏱️
What are your favourite colours 🌈
Black and white are a must for me but it’s difficult to choose, I LOVE colour!
The difference is subtle but these are two of my favourite neutral eyeshadow looks 👀
Is it just me 😫
✨CONCEALER Vs UNDER EYE BRIGHTENER✨
For the majority of us they are 2 very different products and need to be used in conjunction with each other for the best results.
If you go in with just an under eye brightener you might just end up highlighting the bits you really want to hide 🫣
Top tips for the best possible outcome…..
✨ Don’t over layer products under your eyes
✨ Blend your foundation up to and under the orbital bone
✨ Use concealer from your orbital bone and up and gently blend with your foundation to remove any harsh joining points
✨ Only place your under eye brightener near the corner closest to your nose and on the outside corner of the eye in an upward direction
If you are super lucky and don’t require any concealer, then by all means use a very light hand with your foundation all over your face and just add the under eye brightener as above.
Try it, I’d love to hear what you think 🤔
Waiting for a miracle?
Consistency will help you get to a spot in your skincare that others see the difference!
Remember when these 2 products were a complete skincare routine 😂
Now you can still purchase newer versions of both although I believe the formula of the Oil of Ulan changed when the name changed too. Maybe it’s just me but it definitely felt different and now there’s no way to tell as Oil of Olay is the only option.
It makes you wonder how we went from this to the literally thousands of products we have to choose from today 🤔
Science and knowledge has definitely played their part. Understanding the different skin textures, blemishes, pigmentation etc and the special needs for different skin types and the simple fact that the skin around our eyes is a different beast to the rest of our faces 😊
Back in the day targeted skincare was for those that could afford it because the brand names that were providing these products were expensive….and still are today!
But how much of this massive industry is vanity driven? No I’m not saying if you look after your skin and like to look good you’re vain, I’m talking about skincare big shots cashing in on the vulnerability of mainly women and the myth that we don’t need to age ‘normally’. Wrinkles are normal and there was a time that nobody would have even noticed but society has made it a thing over the years and the skincare/beauty industry has seized on that vulnerability that has been creeping in over the past 50 years.
I say it all the time, it’s taken me 58 years to create the tapestry of life that shows on my face, no amount of cream, serum or $$ will make them disappear but I can still have healthy, hydrated and happy skin and can definitely achieve that without spending a small fortune.
Thoughts? Please feel free to share them.
Who used either of these products back in the day?
Finally, is anyone this organised 🤔
If you are have you got any tips to help the rest of us 😂
🚘🏍️🛻
Why do we wait until Spring to clean top to bottom 🤷🏼
This is a simple one foot in front of the other cleaning guide 🧹🧼🧺
OK something to keep the guys busy over the weekend while you practice a little self love 😜
Who in real life has a garage that looks like this?
😳😳
Time is money, right?
What have you got that you can flip either on marketplace, eBay or your own market stall ?
Some extra cash in your own pocket is always a good thing!
💰💰💰
What about the fridge, medical supplies or cleaning products 🤷🏼
Now I know someone in here will have a super organised pantry….. 🤩
Drop your pics good & bad and let’s have a look 👀
Here’s some tips on what you really should donate 📦
📦 Is it clean and undamaged?
📦 Would you wear it again or give it to a family member or close friend?
📦 Is the dinner set complete and not chipped?
📦 Please do not donate single glasses 🥂
📦 Are the sheets, towels etc free of stains, holes and fraying?
📦 Are all the pieces in the jigsaw puzzles and games? 🧩
📦 If the toys are missing arms, ramps, wheels etc please do not donate 📦
📦 Check with the charity/op shop if they take electrical’s as not all have the ability to tag & test before selling or giving them ❌
📦 Likewise any baby furniture, car seats, prams etc. They have safety standards that most cannot gift or sell.
📦 Some op shops will not take bicycle or motorcycle helmets as there is no way to know if it has been in an accident and therefore damaged. Also check as to whether individual shops will take roller skates 🛼
👉🏻I realise this seems like a picky and long list but no one wants to buy someone else’s rubbish and those in need that we give to deserve the same quality as you or I. Being in a tough situation and asking for assistance is difficult enough, being made to feel less than is abhorrent.
👉🏻 We try our hardest to recycle as much as possible of what we cannot give or sell but unfortunately the amount of sheer rubbish we get donated means we are still having to send way too much to landfill.
💰 This costs a lot of money and that’s money that we can’t use to assist those people who need it.
🙌🏻 On a personal note…..the majority of people sorting through donations are volunteers who give their time to do so and the majority of them are of a more mature age, the volunteers I work with now and in the past work just as hard as a paid worker does. So please 🙏 show them the respect they deserve and put your rubbish in your bins 🚮
Let’s start with the list 📜
How many of these items do you know you can clear out over a weekend?
I calculate I can probably hit 45 or even 50 🤯
Always pay it forward 🙌🏻
As I’ve mentioned this page is beyond beauty….so I thought we’d have a little fun this week and talk DECLUTTERING 🤯
I’m not sure about you but if I’ve got too much unorganised stuff around my mental state is also cluttered!
You too?
Well let’s do something about it 📦
Get ready for a week of declutter, organise, clean and breathe 🧘
Here’s a little more info on what I’m doing to my face 😊
FACIAL LYMPHATIC MASSAGE
The lymphatic system is comprised of multiple tubes and lymph nodes which run throughout the body. The lymphatic system is also a critical element in the immune system and ensures that lymph is transported back into the blood stream while also carrying while blood cells and removing waste products from the body. In some cases, it is possible that there may be some sort of blockage in the lymphatic system which can therefore lead to a facial lymphatic drainage massage being necessary to ensure proper functioning of the lymphatic system. In addition to this, the drainage of the lymphatic system can lead to a reduction in swelling of the face, and some feel it leads to a more glowing complexion.
Despite its health benefits, facial lymphatic drainage massage is an effective cosmetic treatment. Facial lymphatic drainage can work to enhance the skin’s natural radiance, reduce puffiness and enhance the natural contours of the face. The massaging technique promotes the movement of lymphatic fluid which therefore reduces swelling and puffiness in the face. Additionally, the massage encourages the delivery of oxygen around the face as well as improved hydration to the skin cells leading to a much healthier and glowing complexion. The massage is also effective to reduce and relieve any pressure and tension in the face and surrounding area. For some individuals, the face can be subject to a lot of tension and therefore the facial lymphatic drainage massage can help to relieve this.
Why should you practice lymphatic drainage?
A facial lymphatic drainage massage is a cosmetic and functional procedure which works to combat a variety of different concerns. By stimulating the lymphatic system in the face, this allows puffiness and natural swelling to reduce in the face. Additionally, the improvement in lymphatic circulation allows the skin to achieve a more glowing and radiant complexion. As well as the aesthetic benefits, facial lymphatic drainage massage also works to effectively relieve tension in the face and surrounding area as well as alleviate any congestion in the sinuses.
Another new to me discovery 🔍
What is Niacinamide?
Also known as vitamin B3 and nicotinamide, niacinamide is a water-soluble vitamin that works with the natural substances in your skin to help visibly minimise enlarged pores, tighten lax or stretched out pores, improve uneven skin tone, soften fine lines and wrinkles, diminish dullness, and strengthen a weakened
surface.
How to use niacinamide
Niacinamide is compatible with other powerful ingredients like peptides, hyaluronic acid, AHAs, BHA, and all types of antioxidants. This multi-ingredient approach to skin care is important because as great as niacinamide is, it’s not the only ingredient skin needs to look and feel its best.H
Adding niacinamide in skin care routine
Using niacinamide is as easy as finding great skin care products that contain it and applying it in order of:
* Cleanser
* Toner
* Exfoliant
* Layer the rest of your skin care serums, treatments, and moisturisers (including those with niacinamide) in order of thinnest to thickest texture
* During the day, finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen
📌 I use this one from Essence under my Baby Face serum and it’s as cheap as chips $8 😱
Vegan and cruelty free ✅

I am also taking a much more holistic approach to my skincare too, using face yoga & targeted massage .
We should all know by now that we actually start losing Collagen in our 30’s and as we hit perimenopause and beyond you can multiply that loss rate by 3 along with our loss of oestrogen. Leaving us with loose, sagging and wrinkled skin 🥺
Now I wish I had started this 20 years ago because based on the results I’m starting to see since I did start , I estimate I would have half the issues I have now .
We have an absolute network of muscles under our skin and like anywhere else in our bodies we need to keep giving them a workout . So start now , it’s never too late !
💆🏼 I am using some pretty simple yet targeted facial exercises and massages 2xdaily. They don’t require much effort or time but im finding them very useful , especially the night ones that leave me totally relaxed .
Try it, I dare you 😉
If you’re interested in exploring exactly what im doing then please let me know ❤️
What have I been up to……
I finished my time in the Kiama Vinnies shop and have been back in my dusty, sweaty beloved warehouse for 3 weeks 😍
I’m home today after a little sinus op yesterday…..no sleep thanks to the steroids I’m taking and the pain isn’t pleasant either 🙄
Since the shut down of the consultant arm of The Body Shop, I raffled the majority of my product in my VIP group and now I’ve only got what is left of what I use.
This has led me to source new products and I’ve been surprisingly impressed.
My current faves are the Revolution Skin Eye Serum and the Bondi Sands Baby Face Serum.
Both vegan and cruelty free, both very affordable and the Bondi Sands is Australian owned and made 🇦🇺
That’s getting a big ✅ from me.
If you’re interested in some extra info on both of these please let me know 😉
