Hi everyone,

I know it has been a while since I have posted an update regarding my business. My sincere apologies if I have been slow to respond to messages and emails. The truth is that life has had many challenges over the past number of months for my family and I have been completely overwhelmed at times just trying to keep up with daily life. Having a child with high support needs in addition to hearing loss has meant I have had to shift my focus away from my business in order to better support my children.

We have recently taken an opportunity to move our family to Canada (where I’m originally from) in order to live near family who are able to provide us regular support and respite. It was a very difficult decision to make, but it is what we felt was the best thing for our kids' future and for our own mental health. I now fully believe in the saying “It takes a village to raise a child.” We arrived here in Canada last week and jet lag has been extra tough this time around for all of us.

I have big plans for the future of Happy Hearing! I’ve had these ideas for a long time but have not had the capacity to implement them. I will soon have the extra time and support to be able to put things in place. This will hopefully make the ordering process more streamlined and efficient for customers all over the world. I am also working on various ways to have my products more easily accessible to the Australian market. With the support of all of my wonderful Australian customers, Happy Hearing would not exist.

I have been consumed with packing up our lives for our big life change recently. It was a very sad day when I had to say goodbye to my beloved sewing machines.. My books will be closed until further notice as I am unable to make anything without them.

I am on the hunt for new machines to set up a new studio over here in our new house in Canada, however will be a while before I’ll be fully up and running again. I need to give my kids my full focus during this big transition period to help them settle in.

Thank you everyone for supporting my business over the years. I truly love making each and every piece and it warms my heart to receive messages from customers informing me of how they have helped support their children wearing their hearing devices more safely and securely.

During this transition period of my business, I will looking forward to sharing some customer appreciation posts with some of the gorgeous photos that have been sent to me over the years with permission to share on my page. 💛

Hi everyone! I just want to thank you for the overwhelming response to my recent post about reopening my books for custom orders☺️💛🙏

Unfortunately, I have reached a point where I need to close them again until further notice so I don’t stretch beyond my capacity at this busy time of year if I haven’t already.. 😓 We have recently received notice that we have to move house at the end of January and I do not know yet when I will be able to get back up and running after that.

I’m truly sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. If you sent me a message after my last post, thank you for your patience. It takes a bit of time to keep up with my responses but please bare with me, I will get back to you to confirm and discuss your order! I will be sewing them in the order I received the initial message.

My apologies to those people who didn’t see my previous post and whom I have not been able to follow up with yet regarding your enquires prior to my announcement, I was not anticipating to fill up so quickly.

I know there are a lot of people who have been patiently waiting for this announcement, so I will be putting a maximum limit of 3️⃣ items per order this time around. That way I can get through the list as quickly and fairly as possible. Especially because there are a lot of kids who have recently acquired hearing aids or cochlear implants.

All of your little ones are SO important to me and I want to help them all as best and efficiently as I can. I know first hand how important it is to have safe and secure retention accessories for their hearing devices. 🦻💛

📣 ANNOUNCEMENT 📣

I am going on Holiday with my family in just over 5 weeks time and so I will be cutting off custom orders at the end of this weekend (7th August) and I will not be starting again until mid October. Apologies in advance for any inconvenience.

My current turnaround time is 3+ weeks and I want to make sure that I have enough time to complete and ship everyone’s order before I go, including any new orders receive before the cut off date.

I have a small selection of pre-made options available for purchase if you miss the cut off date to place a custom order.

I will announce upon my return when I am accepting custom orders again. My goal is to keep a shorter turnaround time with a fresh start!

I’ve had a lot of people asking about items for bone conduction hearing aids recently, so I thought I would share this gorgeous pic 😉

I can make openings on pilot caps for bone conduction hearing aids wherever is best suited for your child. In front of the ear, behind the ear or even on the forehead for the car seat for younger babies. Multiple openings are fine. It’s helpful to have a photo of your child wearing the device(s) so I can get the placement right.

Introducing the 2 in 1 sun cap! ☀️

I stayed up extra late over the weekend designing this pilot cap that has not only a brim at the front, but a removable flap at the back for extra sun protection! It also has a partial cotton mesh side panel to help keep it cool underneath the flap, but still helps secure the hearing devices. Once the back flap is removed, it still offers some sun protection at the front and looks pretty darn cute! The brim can also be worn flipped up when indoors.

As always, you can completely customize your cap! I have tons of fabrics and mesh options to choose from. You can choose contrast colours and prints for various sections to make it even more unique!

**full disclosure this is my daughter testing out my sample, she does not have hearing loss but it is now going to be her new summer hat because she can’t rip it off like she does other hats! 😁
