Incorporating the Dot Shipman Memorial Singles Saturday ,we also for the first time remember the Late Billy Winters a member of Mittagong Darts for over 25 years ..The Inaugural Billy Winters Memorial Doubles will take place Friday Evening

An Additional $2000 has been added to the $6000 prizemoney pool including last 16 payments added for the first time for mens and ladies events

The Race to Ally Pally will resume Saturday morning with 4 x events concluding Sunday Afternoon

$2000 per event will once again be up for Grabs with $750 awarded to the winner of each of the 5 events

The DPA 2023 Winmau Darts Pro Tour continues this weekend , 17/18/19 March at Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club.

At present Brandon Weening, one of Australia’s two representatives at the World Youth Championships last year, is leading the way with quality players like Mal Cuming, GG Mathers and Jeremy F**g chasing just behind.

With over 90 players contesting weekend one these follow up events are sure to have plenty of quality darts at Warilla.

There are four events played across the Saturday and Sunday in the chase for a stage spot at the Alexandra Palace at the end of the year as Pro Tour Events 5/6/7 and 8 Continue ..The Top 6 players will also be named in the Australian Team to meet the Kiwis in October in the Stewart Frampton Trophy

However this is not the only stage spot being contested this weekend with Friday night seeing the second spot for the World Series of Darts NSW Darts Masters being contested. The oche at Win Entertainment Centre Wollongong will already see Mal Cuming’s shadow cast a shadow over it after he defeated Dave Marland in the opening qualifier in February. The winner on Friday the 17th of March will be another local taking on the big guns of European darts and Join Damon ‘The Heat’ Heta and Simon Whitlock on the Oceania Side of the draw

The race for the Ally Pally may have concluded for the DPA satellite series with Ray Smith taking out the final but the race is back on across the oceanic region as the Oceanic Masters is being held at the home of DPA darts on the east coast of Australia – The Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club on the weekend of October 21 – 23.

The weekend will kick off with the DPA Kyle Anderson Memorial Trophy being played at a venue for the first time. Last year Scot Darren Armstrong, playing in London, defeated Ash Britt in the final to become the first winner.

The event was held with the cooperation of Darts Stream Live who then aided in the running of the Oceanic Masters of 2021 where Ky Smith won to join his father on stage at the World Championships. However, 2022 moves back from the screen to in-venue and with the borders opened up and NZ crowning the DPNZ number one to go to the World Champs the weekend before there should be plenty of Aussies and Kiwis making their way to Warilla.

The Oceanic Masters has that world championship position as a carrot but even to join the winners list would be an honour. Names likes Simon Whitlock, both Beau and Kyle Anderson, Mitchell Clegg, Bernie Smith, Warren Parry, Robbie King, David Platt, James Bailey, John Weber, David Platt, Koha Kokiri, Geoff Kime, Russell Stewart, and Barry Jouannet Jnr have joined Ky Smith on that winners list (it was not run in 2020) since 2002.

This year with so many players back in the swing of things, and playing regularly across Australia, the competition in venue should be a treat for people to come and watch. The Saturday will see doubles return to DPA with the DPA Australasian Pairs Championship being held at Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club
