I started playing comprtition snooker 53 years ago at the Illawarra Leagues club in Wollongong. The I moved to oak flats and started playing for Dapto Leagues Club

Congratulations to Sourav Kothari of India, the 2022 Pacific International Billiards Champion after defeating Rob Hall of England 1500-1321 in a high-quality final. Three early century breaks saw Sourav establish a lead of over 600 points before Rob powered back into the match with 177 and 391, the tournament high break. The lead changed hands several times before Sourav drew away in the closing stages to complete a Melbourne double after annexing the Lance Pannell Snooker Classic, also at the Yarraville Club, immediately beforehand. The tense final followed two gripping semi-finals the day before, with both matches going down to the wire before Dhruv Sitwala and Peter Gilchrist bowed out.

Congratulations to Tournament Director Paul Cosgriff and all concerned with bringing world-class billiards back to Melbourne after a 30-month hiatus.
