Le Gasp Designs by Robyn L
Mamma's Crochet creations, something different, something fun. Mostly Wire and bead crochet jewelry.
I like to experiment with crochet using different types of yarn or wire and beads to create individual pieces. I tend to go through phases of creating certain types of jewellery or garments. I aim to make my designs durable but fun using good quality materials.
I also tried my hand at making a handbag with t-shirt yarn. This is about 27cm wide and 22cm high. I think I need a wider strap and a metallic closure to set it off, but I'm quite impressed with myself for first attempt. Oh it has a faux leather base as well.
What did I make this week?
First I tried these little heart key rings. I think they are cute. Could possibly be bag charms. I just need to find some rings for them.
So I know it's been a while since I posted anything here. I've gone back to my crocheting roots and started exploring my love of yarn again.
Also I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in January so I'm currently off work and have time to get creative. Here are some photos of my creations. I've made a few beanies for my poor cold head after having my head shaved.
Currently working on a simple cotton t-shirt. (Not pictured)
Face painting practice! Wish I had more time to do this. It’s so much fun!
Getting my creative on. Black pen on shrink plastic. (Before shrinking)
Got my creative on today! Loving these.
Mother’s Day earrings created by my Grandies for their Mum. I just love them. Now I want them to make me a pair.
I had the privilege of face painting for Cami-Mai’s birthday party today. The children were just lovely and not worried about a little rain. Thank you Shanna Hartley for having me.
More face painting practice. The tiger is a bit dodgy. But I’m happy with the unicorns.
Put the finishing touches on these this afternoon. I love how they turned out. What do you think?
Trying out new markers. Click on the photo to see the caption.
One of my designs from this afternoon. The girl wanted roses like mine and purple bunnies!
Learning how to paint roses today. Hmmmm… I can only get better, but it’s a start. Excuse the wrinkly skin 😂😂😂
Making Shrink Plastic Earrings is so addicting. I never quite know how much they will shrink. Drawings are done with watercolour pencil. Once they shrink the colour pops, next step is to varnish to seal them, then add the findings. What do you think of these designs. I was going for monochrome but couldn’t resist a pop of red.
Next week I will be doing some face painting to celebrate Easter and share the Gospel message of the new life we have in Jesus Christ. I made my own stencils and had some fun practicing some designs. Great relaxing way to start the school holidays!
The finished product!!
Sneaky peek of my Easter Bonnet in progress for our school Easter Parade this week.
These little ones are going to their home today. Loving the colour!
Some works in progress. The round ones are a little bigger than a 5c coin (if you remember those). The colours make me happy!
Two little birds…
Changed my page name to reflect the change of direction. There might be crochet, there might be earrings, there might be art. It just depends on where my journey is headed. Today it’s all about these cute little earrings. What do you think?
Do you like my new name?
Exploring watercolour
These two went to their homes today. Such fun pieces. Stay tuned, I hope to get a chance for a ‘making’ day very soon. So many to put together and some fun designs coming. Each piece I make is really a one of a kind. Note my new name ‘Le Gasp!’ Designs. I’ll aim to get a new page up and running when I have time, but for now Mumma’s Crochet will have to do.
Works in progress, varnished and drying on my dining table studio. I really enjoyed the circles - so many possibilities.
Exploring circle art using old good quality paper magazines.
Experimenting with water colour brushes.
