I have so many wonderful childhood memories from the Young show. I would enter just about every section there was, the baking, the craft, the flower arrangements and of course the photography section, I’d ride my horse in the classes and show jumping. I remember mum and Dad giving me a twenty dollar note, telling me not to waste it and to not go anywhere with a “showy” but I was to busy thinking about how I’d be splitting that 20 between the dodgems and the cha cha. Who else loved Friendship farm? It was my favourite, getting the see and pet all of the baby animals, and buying the baby chickens that in a few short weeks would transform from cute yellow fuzz balls into blood thirsty roosters that could terrorisingly chase you at the speed of an Olympic runner. What’s your favourite part of the Show?
