Gate 6 is a an exciting home based guitar studio located in the beautiful island of Barbados. It is owned and operated by David Collins who has more than 35 years experience playing guitar and who has studied music at the prestigious McGill University in Montreal Canada where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Music (High Distinction).

While his principal instrument during his many years of study was the Classical Guitar, he also carries with him years of experience performing in various rock bands such as 'The Heard' and 'DV8' . David has also provided countless solo performances including and invitation to perform for the former British Prime Minister Mr. Tony Blair and former Barbadian Prime Minister Mr. Owen Arthur.

The formation of Gate 6 Guitar Studio was the inevitable culmination of David's three main passions:

1/ PLAYING AND TEACHING GUITAR
What better way is there to ensure the future of the art form in Barbados than to teach it? It has always been difficult to find a qualified guitar teacher in Barbados. Not only is David experienced and qualified in the subject matter but he also offers a fun and exciting method of teaching guitar and music to all ages in the relaxed comfort of a home based studio setting.
David loves to teach and it shows with his enthusiasm and rewards with proven results.

2/ TO SET-UP AND REPAIR GUITARS
David is no stranger to working with his hands having also co-owned and operated a construction company for 12 years. In fact, describing him as 'hands on' may be an understatement. He has seemingly always loved setting up and repairing guitars of all kinds. Through Gate 6 David now offers these repair services to the public.
Gate 6 carries the an extensive range of specialty tools and equipment required to carry out these precision guitar works to the highest degree of accuracy and professionalism. The finished works however will speak for themselves.

3/ BUSINESS
As mentioned above, David is no stranger to business. With his many years of business experience comes uncompromised professionalism. Professionalism is and will always be a key component in providing and maintaining the very best quality of services from Gate 6.
Whether that service be guitar or music instruction, guitar repairs or his unique 'dollar a day' student guitar rental plan, one thing is certain.....the very best service backed by unwavering professionalism is guaranteed.
One of the biggest concerns parents have is spending a few hundred dollars up front for their child's guitar in order for them to begin lessons....especially inh these tough economic times.
