Bangabandhu Shilpa Nagar: First factory opens next month Bangladesh’s largest industrial enclave, the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar (BSMSN) in Mirsarai, Chattogram, is scheduled to witness the inauguration of its very first factory on June 10, likely through a virtual platform, by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

A developing coastline in Chittagong's Mirsarai is quickly transforming the country's southeastern region into the greatest business hub on the subcontinent.
The BSMSN, also known as the Mirsarai Economic Zone, will provide around 1.5 million employment, with 15 million people living in the surrounding areas, making it Bangladesh's third largest metropolis after Dhaka and Chittagong.
According to Abdullah Al Mahmud Faruk, project director of BSMSN, "the industrial city presently has $20 billion investment proposals from numerous nations like as China, Japan, and India." He continued, "We have already leased 6,000 acres of land to several companies." According to BEZA, 13 different enterprises' factories are now being built in the economic zone.
