IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter (CS BDC) happily announces the Call for Award Nominations for the year 2021 in the following categories:

1. Best CS Student Chapter (period of activities: 1/1/2021 to 31/12/2021)
2. Best Promising CS Student Branch Chapter (SBC approved no earlier than 1/1/2021. Period of activities: 1/1/2021 to 31/12/2021)
3. Best CS Student Volunteer (period of activities: 1/1/2021 to 31/12/2021)
4. Best Advisor (period of activities: 1/1/2021 to 31/12/2021)
5. Best SPARK Volunteer (period of activities: 1/1/2021 to 31/12/2021)

Nominations must be sent to the committee by fulfilling the following criteria:

A. The application deadline is 13 January 2022, 12:00 BST
B. For individual applications, self-nomination will not be acceptable.
C. The individual nomination must be supported by a Nominator.
D. Individual category applicants should provide their best 3 activities and Chapter category applicants should provide their best 5 activities during the considerable period and also provide a list of achievements/awards during this tenure(if any)

After tremendous planning and efforts, IEEE CS BDC Winter Symposium 2021 is going to be organized on 13-14 November 2021.

The detailed schedule is attached herewith and is also available at the symposium website at https://site.ieee.org/bangladesh-cs/ws2021/.

In the Symposium, there are 15 different sessions on the emerging tracks.

The Symposium will be inaugurated by Professor Mohammad Kaykobad, Professor of CSE, BUET; Distinguished Professor, CSE, BUET. কুমিল্লা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সিএসই বিভাগের তত্ত্বাবধানে প্রযুক্তিবিদদের সর্ববৃহৎ পেশাজীবী সংগঠন 'দ্য ইনস্টিটিউট অব ইলেক্ট্রিক্যাল এন্ড ইলেক্ট্রনিকস ইঞ্জিনিয়ারস (আইইইই)' এর শিক্ষার্থী কেন্দ্রিক শাখা 'আইইইই স্টুডেন্ট ব্রাঞ্চ কুমিল্লা ইউনিভার্সিটি' এর কমিটি ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে।

বৃহস্পতিবার (৮ই এপ্রিল ) ভার্চুয়াল অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে এ কমিটি ঘোষণা করা হয়।

কমিটিতে সভাপতি হিসেবে সাইফুর রহমান ও সাধারণ সম্পাদক হিসেবে মনোনীত হয়েছেন ফজিলাতুন্নেছা মাসুমা।

সহ-সভাপতি হিসেবে মনোনীত হয়েছেন মো. জাহিদুল ইসলাম, কোষাধ্যক্ষ শাকিল আহমেদ, প্রোগ্রাম কো-অর্ডিনেটর রায়হান খান, সহকারী প্রোগ্রাম কো-অর্ডিনেটর কানিস তাসমিম হাবিব, স্টুডেন্ট এক্টিভিটি কো-অর্ডিনেটর মো. মহিবুর রহমান, সহকারী স্টুডেন্ট এক্টিভিটি কো-অর্ডিনেটর সৈকত দাস তুষার, মেম্বারশীপ ডেভেলপমেন্ট কো-অর্ডিনেটর চৈতী শাহা, ওয়েব মাস্টার মাজহারুল হাসান, গ্রাফিক্স ডিজাইনার তামান্না সুলতানা, পাবলিসিটি কো-অর্ডিনেটর ফারাহ নাওয়ার ও সহকারী পাবলিসিটি কো-অর্ডিনেটর হিসেবে মনোনীত হয়েছেন মোফরাদ জামিল জয়।

এছাড়াও, সংগঠনের উপদেষ্টা হিসেবে আছেন বিভাগের প্রধান পার্থ চক্রবর্তী এবং আইইইই কম্পিউটার সোসাইটি স্টুডেন্ট ব্রাঞ্চ'র উপদেষ্টা হিসেবে আছেন বিভাগের লেকচারার নয়ন বণিক।

উল্লেখ্য, সংগঠনটি সিএসই বিভাগের তত্ত্বাবধানে প্রযুক্তিবিদদের সর্ববৃহৎ পেশাজীবী সংগঠন।

এটি বিজ্ঞান ও প্রকৌশল অনুষদের শিক্ষার্থীদের একাডেমিক ক্লাসের বাইরে সমসাময়িক উদ্ভাবন, গবেষণা ও নেটওয়ার্কিং এর জন্য অন্যান্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ন্যায় সংগঠনটি কুমিল্লা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে বলে আশাবাদী উপদেষ্টারা।

কুমিল্লা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সিএসই বিভাগের তত্ত্বাবধানে প্রযুক্তিবিদদের সর্ববৃহৎ পেশাজীবী সংগঠন ‘দ্য ইনস্টিটিউট অব ইলেক্ট্রিক্যাল এন্ড ইলেক্ট্রনিকস ইঞ্জিনিয়ারস (আইইইই)’ এর শিক্ষার্থী কেন্দ্রিক শাখা ‘আইইইই স্টুডেন্ট ব্রাঞ্চ কুমিল্লা ইউনিভার্সিটি’র উদ্ধোধন করা হয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবার (৮ এপ্রিল ) ভার্চুয়ালি অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে উদ্ধোধন করা হয়।
সিএসই বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান পার্থ চক্রবর্তীর সভাপতিত্বে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন কুবির ট্রেজারার অধ্যাপক ড. মো. আসাদুজ্জামান।
এছাড়াও উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিভিন্ন অনুষদের ডিন, বিভাগীয় প্রধান, শিক্ষক সমিতির সভাপতি ও সাধারণ সম্পাদক, বিভিন্ন বিভাগের শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থীবৃন্দ।
আমন্ত্রিত অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্তিত ছিলেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধ্যাপক ড. মো. আব্দুর রাজ্জাক, ড. আতিকুর রহমান আহাদ, জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধ্যাপক শামীম কায়সার, জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সহকারী অধ্যাপক সজীব সাহা ও ইসলামিক ইউনিভার্সিটি অফ টেকনোলজির অধ্যাপক ড. খন্দকার হাবিবুল কবির।
এছাড়াও, উদ্ধোধনী অনুষ্ঠান শেষে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইইই বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. আতিকুর রহমান আহাদ এর সম্পাদনায় রিসার্চ মেথডোলজি শীর্ষক সেমিনার অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
উল্লেখ্য, এ বছরের গত ১লা মার্চ ‘আইইইই স্টুডেন্ট ব্রাঞ্চ কুমিল্লা ইউনিভার্সিটি’ অফিসিয়ালি অনুমোদন পায় এবং ৮ এপ্রিল ভার্চুয়ালি অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে নতুন এ কমিটি ঘোষণা করা হয়। বিজ্ঞান ও প্রকৌশল অনুষদের শিক্ষার্থীদের একাডেমিক ক্লাসের বাইরে সমসাময়িক উদ্ভাবন, গবেষণা ও নেটওয়ার্কিং এর জন্য অন্যান্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ন্যায় সংগঠনটি কুমিল্লা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে।।

আগামী বৃহস্পতিবার বিকাল ৪ টায় ভার্চুয়ালি সংগঠনটির উদ্বোধন হবে। এর আগে গত পহেলা মার্চ অফিসিয়ালি অনুমোদন পায় আইইইই স্টুডেন্ট ব্রাঞ্চ কুমিল্লা ইউনিভার্সিটি।

সিএসই বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান ও সংগঠনটির ব্রাঞ্চ কাউন্সিলর পার্থ চক্রবর্তীর সভাপতিত্বে উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থাকবেন বিভিন্ন অনুষদের ডীন, বিভাগীয় প্রধান, শিক্ষক সমিতির সভাপতি, সাধারণ সম্পাদক ও বিভিন্ন বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থীবৃন্দ।

এছাড়া আমন্ত্রিত অতিথিদের মধ্যে থাকবেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধ্যাপক ডঃ মোঃ আব্দুর রাজ্জাক, ডঃ আতিকুর রহমান আহাদ, জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধ্যাপক ডঃ মোহাম্মদ শরীফ উদ্দীন, জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সহকারী অধ্যাপক সজীব সাহা ও ইসলামিক ইউনিভার্সিটি অফ টেকনোলজির অধ্যাপক ডঃ খন্দকার হাবিবুল কবির।

উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠান শেষে একই দিন বিকেল ৫ টায় ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইইই বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ডঃ আতিকুর রহমান আহাদ এর সম্পাদনায় রিসার্চ মেথডোলজি শীর্ষক একটি সেমিনার অনুষ্ঠিত হওয়ার কথা রয়েছে।

উল্লেখ্য, ‘আইইইই স্টুডেন্ট ব্রাঞ্চ কুমিল্লা ইউনিভার্সিটি’ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টির বিজ্ঞান ও প্রকৌশল অনুষদের শিক্ষার্থীদের একাডেমিক ক্লাসের বাইরে সমসাময়িক উদ্ভাবন, গবেষণা ও নেটওয়ার্কিংয়ের জন্য অন্যান্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ন্যায় কুমিল্লা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়েও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে বলে সংগঠনটির উদ্যোক্তারা আশা করছেন।

কুমিল্লা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সিএসই বিভাগের তত্ত্বাবধানে প্রযুক্তিবিদদের সর্ববৃহৎ পেশাজীবি সংগঠন 'দ্য ইনস্টিটিউট অব ইলেক্ট্রিক্যাল এন্ড ইলেক্ট্রনিক্স ইঞ্জিনিয়ারস (আইইইই)' এর শিক্ষার্থীকেন্দ্রিক শাখা "আইইইই স্টুডেন্ট ব্রাঞ্চ কুমিল্লা ইউনিভার্সিটি" এর উদ্ভোধনী অনুষ্ঠান ভার্চুয়ালি অনুষ্ঠিত হতে যাচ্ছে আগামী ৮ এপ্রিল রোজ বৃহস্পতিবার।
গত ১লা মার্চ ২০২১ তারিখে অফিসিয়ালি অনুমোদন পায় আইইইই স্টুডেন্ট ব্রাঞ্চ কুমিল্লা ইউনিভার্সিটি। বিজ্ঞান ও প্রকৌশল অনুষদের শিক্ষার্থীদের একাডেমিক ক্লাসের বাইরে সমসাময়িক উদ্ভাবন, গবেষনা ও নেটওয়ার্কিং এর জন্যে অন্যান্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ন্যায় সংগঠনটি কুমিল্লা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে।
