All 7 BTS Members Renew Contracts With BIGHIT MUSIC

It’s official—all 7 BTS members will be walking the same path with BIGHIT MUSIC!

On September 20, HYBE shared, “The board of directors has completed [their decision] on renewing the exclusive contracts of all seven members of BIGHIT MUSIC’s artist BTS.”

After making their debut in June 2013, all seven of the BTS members renewed with BIGHIT MUSIC in October 2018, more than one year before their original contracts were set to expire. This marks the second contract renewal from all the members, signaling their continuation as a team after wrapping up all their military enlistment duties by around 2025.

Following the news, RM posted a photo of his contract as well as a message for ARMY:

BTS’ JUNG KOOK has joined the 2023 Global Citizen Festival lineup just weeks before the live music event is scheduled to take place at Central Park’s Great Lawn in New York City. The musician will co-headline the festival alongside previously announced headliners Anitta, Ms. Lauryn Hill, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

“I’m so thrilled to join this year’s Global Citizen Festival as a headliner!” Jung Kook shared in a statement. “The festival sheds light on important causes and drives action and I’m happy to take part in it. I can’t wait to perform in front of many people at the Great Lawn in Central Park.”

BTS has yet to take the stage during the New York City iteration of the festival during its long-running history. However, the group delivered a ” Butter ” performance from Seoul during the 2021 Global Citizen Live event. Jung Kook’s performance will mark the first time anyone from the group performs on the main stage.

Jung Kook officially launched his solo era in July with the Latto-assisted single “Seven.” The release followed the arrival of “My You” and “Still With You” to streaming services after previously only being available on YouTube and SoundCloud. Over the course of the summer, the singer has performed on Good Morning America and in BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.

BTS is one of the most successful acts in Billboard chart history.

Dating to the South Korean septet’s first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2017, with “DNA,” the group has charted over two dozen songs. Of those, 10 have reached the top 10 and six have gone all the way to
No. 1: “Dynamite” (three weeks at the summit in 2020); “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat),” with Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo (one week, 2020); “Life Goes On” (one week, 2020); “Butter” (10 weeks, 2021); “Permission To Dance” (one week, 2021); and “My Universe,” with Coldplay (one week, 2021).

Outside the group, all seven BTS members have embarked on solo careers – and scored solo Hot 100 hits. Two — Jimin and Jung Kook — have even achieved solo No. 1s, with “Like Crazy” and “Seven” (featuring Latto), respectively.

J-Hope became the first BTS member to notch a solo Hot 100 entry when “Chicken Noodle Soup,” featuring Becky G, debuted and peaked at No. 81 in October 2019.
