Our Ambassador Dr. Collins Santhanasamy is leading exceptional work supporting public health in Chittagong.💙

In 2013, while still at medical school, Collins founded The M Exchange - a pilot project for doctors and medical students to volunteer their time to provide health check-ups and medical support to refugee, rural, and urban poor communities in need of healthcare. 👨‍⚕️ 👩‍⚕️

Since then they have worked with over 100 volunteers from ten countries and served over 4,000 patients. All for free. 💪

In 2014 The M Exchange established a free school for underprivileged students in a vulnerable community in Chittagong. This primary school is the first of its kind in the locality, providing a safe classroom experience for 166 students 6 days a week. 🏫 The organisation is currently developing a scholarship programme to ensure that every student has the opportunity to graduate high school.

"ভারনিক্স" নামক শব্দটির সঙ্গে আমরা কতটা পরিচিত!!?
বাচ্চা জন্ম নেওয়ার পরে প্রায় সকল বাচ্চার শরীরে যে সাদা ময়লার মত পদার্থ দেখা যায় সেটাকে "ভারনিক্স "বলে। "ভারনিক্স " নামের পদার্থটি প্রায় সকল বাচ্চার শরীরেই দেখা যায়। কোন কোন বাচ্চা শরীরে এত ভারনিক্স নিয়ে জন্মগ্রহণ করে আবার কোন কোন বাচ্চা একেবারে পরিষ্কার থাকে।
এই ভারনিক্স টা সম্পর্কে অনেকে অবগত নয়, বাচ্চাকে মুছে যখন অভিভাবকদের কাছে দেওয়া হয় তখন শরীরে ভারনিক্স থাকলে তারা ভাবেন বাচ্চাকে ক্লিয়ারলি ক্লিন করা হয়নি বা নিজেরাই মুছতে বসে যান।
সৃষ্টির সবকিছুর পিছনেই গভীর রহস্য লুকায়িত আছে, তাঁর অসীম জ্ঞান বুঝার ক্ষমতা আমাদের কারোরি নেই!
সদ্যজাত শিশুর শরীরে ভারনিক্স নামের এক ধরণের তেল জাতীয় পদার্থ থাকে যা মায়ের গর্ভে থাকাকালীন তরল পদার্থ থেকে শিশুর ত্বককে রক্ষা করে। এটি অ্যান্টিবডির মত শিশুর রোগ প্রতিরোধে সাহায্য করে।
জন্মের পর পরই শিশুকে পরিষ্কার বা মোছার সময় খেয়াল রাখতে হবে যেন ভারনিক্স ওঠে না যায়। (WHO) এর মতে শিশুর শরীরে ভারনিক্স কমপক্ষে ৬ ঘন্টা রাখা এবং সবচেয়ে ভালো হয় ২৪ ঘন্টা রাখলে।
