Retaining the mysteries of the Middle Ages and unashamedly exuberant, Bruges has been an international metropolis for centuries.
Participating in the Great Bruges Marathon is your opportunity to be part of this inspirational journey. Besides an official full marathon there will also be a timed half marathon race. Great feature: both distances will also be open to hikers.

Every marathon runner was without any doubt beat up by Kelvin Kiptumโs death last week. We all witnessed with wide eyes his phenomenal world record in Chicago. To keep the memory of Kelvin alive, we as organizer of many marathons, including the Athora Great Bruges Marathon, and as management of Kelvin, decided to found the Kelvin Kiptum Foundation.
With the death of Kelvin Kiptum, the sports world loses a great athlete. But above all, his family loses a warm family man, someone who could offer a better future to his immediate community. With this foundation, Golazo wants to continue to support the family and Kelvin's immediate environment.
For his immediate community, the plans that Kelvin himself had in terms of investments in education and infrastructure will locally be picked up and developed. By establishing a marathon team and training facilities for young runners, the foundation offers them the opportunity for a possible future in athletics.
