💚💜These two dresses are made out of left-over silk and as you might have noticed, this is not the final product, still a sample. I always enjoy the process of creating, starting from the process of defining, ideating, prototyping, and the last one is testing. Which is creating the sample! Making design mistakes, modifying the design, learning from the mistake, until it becomes a perfect product that you love.

By the way, October is also the perfect month to do activities such as make spooky treat holders for Halloween 🎃, go on a nature scavenger hunt, and make gingerbread mummies. Hope you have been enjoying your October!💛

Living consciously does not mean that you have to be extra restrictive towards your spending nor forbid yourself to buy things that you would like to have. Of course, you can (and definitely have the power) to buy that cute clothes, buy those books that were recommended by Forbes as the best seller books to change your life, or foods that are famously full of hype and people are talking about it. But try to look deeper inside. Most of the buying decision making comes from the external noise rather than following your actual need. If you would like to be more conscious, listen to the essentials. What are the ingredients of the food you are about to buy? Would that be ok for you to eat that excessive sugar on the topping? How would you feel after purchasing a dress that you were aware of was not ethically made? How can you better spend the money on, hire a mentor, or buy a book? Listen attentively to what is beyond your thought and try to pay attention to the little things.

Received new fabrics with different floral patterns 🌸🌼🌹

Frugal living and fashion might seem contradictory, and most of the time it is. The definition between both terms sits in a different compartment therefore, looking for an alignment to see where is the connection seems relatively vague. What fashion has to do with living frugally when the action itself oftentimes does not resonate with one and another? Reflecting only on one single of understanding will not lead to the fact that there is some part of meaning between those terms that can be interconnected. Consciousness, awareness and transparency are the keys to unlock the disconnection between being fashionable and yet spending less but with deep thought about the value and the essentials.

Playing around with a new design model by making this new blue&white stripe cotton into a dress. Trying to create a dress that is versatile to be used for any occasion. The fabric is supplied by the local supplier and the texture is pleasingly soft and breathable. Surprised because the fabric comes from leftover inventory and the quality is beyond expectation 💫

We are aware that deadstock fabric is not always as sustainable as it sounds. The common definition of deadstock is an old fabric that has not been able to sell, which is not completely wrong. Deadstock fabric happens for various reasons. For example, because the fabric is damaged, get rejected by some big clothing brands, or ugly quality therefore it is not qualified to be further made for clothes. It cannot be denied that the waste of deadstock fabrics is extremely harmful to the environment. Seeing that reality is hurtful and therefore the initiation to do something, even though it is perceivably small and might not be grandiosely impactful, the drive to remake what's left with purpose is our pure mission.

New cotton fabric 💫

Madame, our local tailor, named this clothing model Daisy. Daisy is made with details and accentuation on the body curve. The wish is to create a blouse with modest style and yet exposing the beauty of women's bodies by combining it with the right cutting and the type of material that is strong and durable. We received a roll of deadstock daisy's material that would be enough to make 5 more blouses. We are thinking to play around with a new concept using this fabric 💫🌸
