Gobs de BXL
I don't use Facebook much, so hit me up elsewhere if you want to contact me.
Psyched to play some oldskool Jungle this Saturday! Thanks to for organising and inviting me,can't wait
After countless squat evictions and 1000s of court cases where the Federal government was found guilty of failing to provide shelter for asylum seekers, Flagey is being occupied a handful of the 2,000 asulylum seekers living on the streets. They're demanding a long-term, political solution to this "crisis", a crisis created by hateful politicians of the far right and those on the left who are too scared to stand up to them before the elections next year.
It disgusts me and pains me to see people dehumanised in this way, and this in the "heart of Europe". You can visit http://stop-crise-accueil.be/ to see how you can help in any way you can, whether it's financially or by informing yourself and talking to those around you about it.
1. Gromit crying in prison after being accused of being a sheep rustler.
2. Me crying because I grew my hair out for a year to recreate this scene only to realise that Gromit doesn't cry into his ears at all.
3. Me disguised as a startled, half-naked meme washing its pans in a lake.
4. Except from an article in the June edition of for which I was interviewed. Rough translation: "You can't be neutral about climate. Doing nothing is supporting the status quo." Mostly directing this towards academics who uphold a misguided idea that we must be neutral ("there's pros and cons, do what you will") rather than objective ("no solution can be radical enough in the face of possible civilisational collapse").
5. Me expressing my passionate hatred for social media for the second time on my blog, gobs.brussels/gobs-life, where I've been much more active than here.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday evening
Hype hype hype!
I know I’ve been quiet lately, but when a booking like this comes, I just can’t say no! After all that planning and hard work.. so grateful to be on this line up!
Really looking forward to this 💃🏼💃🏼dnb .music 🙏❤️
New music incoming in February
It’s been almost exactly a year since I joined , and I’ve been thinking about making a post to commemorate that for a while. Partly because I feel the need to excuse myself for the lack of music and neglecting my friends, partly because I’ve collected a banging collection of photos of yours truly.
And partly because the first action from is coming up (see last picture) and I want to advertise it. I’m giving (at least) two action trainings in English in for it, and I may have convinced 2 friends to join them. So feel free to give in to your eco-anxiety and sign up to one yourself.
I sometimes write about activism on my blog (link in bio). If you’re interested, feel free to check out. For the rest of you, I’ll see you at the watering hole for a fight to the death over a rat carcass in the decades to come
Have my next release, “Or Congo”, pretty much ready to go and being the impatient sod that I am I’ve decided to have a pre-release party on Saturday the 30th of July!
So come on down, grab a beer, give me a record to spin - it’s gonna be a good time!
Watch out for dis one...
Due to some faulty technical data from one of our science outposts we had to retrace our steps into the great Vlocidius fortress and create a new plan of attack.
Impex's next single had to be remastered by the scienticians on outpost P.0RtuG4 but is now ready to be launched into the ether on 23 july (beatport exclusive)! ...
I feel like I’ve eaten 3 cans of baked beans, I’m so gassed! Can’t wait to unleash all the Moombahton I’ve been producing these last few months.
It's Valentine's day today and Belgium recently announced code orange, so it seems like a great time to try and w***e myself to promoters. and .bxl just saying...
The Funk Saved My Life is out now on ! (link in bio).
Respect to anyone who gets the Keanu Reeves reference (but keep it to yourself please).

Waking up from another cryosleep after 8.89 kilometrics of interdimensional buccaneering, the Space Pirate crew is visiting the common realm again to present a gift to the humans of earth. A message from the world's beyond. It reads: "chill out guys, it's really not that bad over there, space is like really cold you've no idea ..."
With those angelic words the Space Pirate rocket shoots off into the next dimension but leaves life on earth improved and with a glance of real hope. In the form of very danceable breakbeats by no other than Space Buccanneer Gobs de BXL.
Besides researching and writing PHD's about how to actually save the world from oblivion and occupying more nationalities than Dr. Who, Gobs De BXL still found some time to cook up more kneebenders for the dancefloor.
A bare knuckled yet swift footed, spaced out but zoned in cheekslapper from the planet Gezmoidiburp, to the earthlings known as Brussels. Gobs De BXL comes in for his sophemore release with this certified tittietwister tha knows no boundaries. This time pairing up with Khronos for the title track and going solo into his typical progressive and narrative approach to fast breakbeats on the flipside 'Spooky'. We told you to look out for him last time. We're saying it again. Gobs De BXL. The funk saved my life.
Preview now available on our soundcloud, link in comments.
Available on Beatport 14th of january
350, the second tune of the eponymous EP coming out on the 19th of April on .
Track is named after the maximum level of CO2 in the atmosphere to sustain human civilisation .
I tried to make these videos funny, but this one was beyond even my comedic genius. So I hope you enjoy my first and last ever video made with Processing.
Thin Ice, the first tune off of my debut EP on
PS I highly recommend smashing ice cubes with a hammer if you need to blow off some steam (ha), it's very cathartic.
