We are thrilled to announce our newest team member Vadim Pezechkian who joins us as IONWAY’s Global Tax Manager. Vadim is a Belgian-Armenian national with an impressive background. He has an MSC from the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management and he holds a Master’s degree in Taxation from the same university.

His 💼 professional journey spans over 20 years of experience in the field of taxes and Vadim has worked across diverse industries, including consulting, banking, retail, luxury, and manufacturing.

Vadim is passionate about music and sports 🎵🏃‍♂️ and he loves spending time with his family, he is the proud father to a beautiful baby girl and soon his family will grow even more as him and his wife are expecting a baby boy 👨‍👧‍👦. This week, IONWAY's General Plant Manager, Piotr Porębski crossed paths with Nysa's Mayor, Kordian Kolbiarz Burmistrz Nysy. Their dynamic discussion centered on the region's potential to be a thriving hub of opportunity. The positive ripple effects of IONWAY’s strategic investment were noted especially as these can benefit citizens and promote regional growth. 🌱

The conversation then veered towards the impact of education on the community with a focus on connecting businesses and schools to enhance career prospects for young talent. 🎓

The importance of transportation was not forgotten as the need to reestablish a direct railway connection between Nysa and Wrocław was firmly acknowledged. 🚆

Last week, we had the privilege of attending the Polska Agencja Inwestycji i Handlu - PAIH Gala. During this event, IONWAY's General Plant Manager, Piotr Porębski engaged in discussions with fellow investors and state representatives. The insightful speeches and conversations reinforced our conviction that Poland is an excellent destination for investment and business endeavors. We are proud to have chosen Nysa as the location for our first CAM manufacturing plant, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to PAIH for their unwavering support in turning this investment into a reality.

We have recently been joined by Michel Van Praag, one of IONWAY's new Global Project Managers. He is 29 years old and he graduated as a Chemical Engineer in 2018 from KU Leuven. Before coming to IONWAY, Michel worked as an Operations Manager at Umicore. He is married and has a daughter, his family also includes an adorable golden retriever. Michel is passionate about basketball and he enjoys a good Belgian beer.

Piotr is a continuous learner who eagerly seeks opportunities for personal growth and he has over 22 years of experience working in international production companies. He has a wife and two sons, he loves traveling, skiing, and diving. He also enjoys board games, escape rooms, and reading.

Exciting news ⭐! Last week, Cathy Geerts, our Global People and Organization Lead met with the district labor office of Strona główna | WORTAL (praca.gov.pl) and with Umicore's Recruitment Manager, Jadwiga Miśtak to discuss collaboration on job placements, career fairs and the selection of candidates for IONWAY's facility in Nysa which is expected to employ up to 900 people by 2030 and help strengthen the local labor market. We are thrilled to be working together 🤝 to make a positive impact on the community and create new opportunities for the workforce. Stay tuned for more updates on our progress.

Radhwen Ben Ali joined us this month, a Tunisian national that has lived in China for the last 6 years. With over 18 years in quality management and operational excellence gained in the electronics and automotive industries, Radhwen takes the lead on Global Quality & Operational Excellence at IONWAY. He loves travelling with his family all over the world and is passionate about football⚽ having played professionally in his home country of Tunisia. Let's give him a big welcome 👋. Yesterday IONWAY celebrated the New Year ✨ together as a team. It is exciting to see how much we have grown over the past 6 months and to welcome new people to our joint venture. We enjoyed great company, put our teamwork skills to good use, tasted some delicious food and learned a few new tricks for our next dinner party. 2024 is off to a good start and we can’t wait to grow IONWAY’s ambition even further.
