Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin
Rawat on Thursday warned Pakistan against trying to take advantage of India's border row with China in
eastern Ladakh, saying Islamabad could suffer "heavy losses" for any "'misadventure". In an interactive session at the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, Gen Rawat
said also spoke about security implications of China's economic assistance to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as well as its overall military, economic and diplomatic support to Islamabad.

The Chief of Defence Staff said Pakistan could take advantage of India's border row with China, and it may create some trouble for New Delhi, adding a strategy has already been devised to deal with such a scenario.

The report titled, 'Military and
Security Developments Involving the People's Republic of China 2020' says that after establishing the Djibouti
naval base, China is now considering expanding in the Indian Ocean, Indo-Pacific region in a big way.
According to the section on 'PLA Overseas Basing and Access', the reports says, "The PRC has likely
considered Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, Kenya,
Seychelles, Tanzania, Angola, and Tajikistan as locations for PLA military logistics facilities."

China is seeking to establish a more robust overseas logistics and basing infrastructure to allow the PLA to
project and sustain military power at greater distances, the report says.
The rule of sustenance at distance is the reason why People's Liberation Army (PLA) is now an extension of
Chinese diplomacy.

On the festival of Rakhi 2020, India has given a huge blow to China-made rakhis causing a massive loss to the tune of Rs 4,000 crores. With this India has broken the myth that it cannot successfully boycott Chinese goods.

On June 10, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) had given a call for celebrating Rakhi as "Hindustani Rakhi" this year which turned out to be a SuccesS.

President Donald Trump said Friday that his administration is weighing action against TikTok, a popular Chinese-owned video app that has been a source of national-security and censorship concerns.

Trump's comments came after published reports that the administration is planning to order China's ByteDance to sell TikTok. There were also reports Friday that software giant Microsoft is in talks to buy the app."We are looking at TikTok" Trump told reporters at the White House. "We may be banning TikTok. Six global electronics equipment manufacturers including Samsung, LG, and Apple's iPhone manufacturing partner Pegatron are eyeing India to ramp up their presence under Prime Minister Narendra Modi government's Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme .

What is PLI scheme?

Under the PLI scheme which was notified this April,companies which decide on setting up new mobile and specified equipment manufacturing units or to expand their present units will get incentives of 4 to 6% on incremental sales from goods made in India. Incentives will also be provided on the manufacturing of some electronic equipment such as transistors, diodes, thyristors, etc.

The government aims to give incentives worth over Rs.5,000 crore in total in the first year which will be divided amongst the participants and is open for a total of five years. The total incentive for each company is to be decided by a committee, which will comprise of secretaries from the Department of Economic Affairs,
Department of Expenditure, Department of Revenue,Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, and Directorate General of Foreign Trade, other than the MeitY secretary and the chief executive officer of the Niti Aayog.

India will hand over 10 railway locomotives to Bangladesh on Monday, reflecting a renewed focus on the "neighbourhood first" policy to bolster economic ties and connectivity within the region amid the border standoff with China.

The handover of the broad gauge diesel locomotives, part of grant assistance from the Indian side, is in line with a commitment by New Delhi during Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit last October, people familiar with developments said on condition of anonymity.

The locomotives will be handed over during a virtual event to be joined by external affairs minister S Jaishankar and railways minister Piyush Goyal and their Bangladeshi counterparts AK Abdul Momen and Mohammed Nurul Islam Sujon, as well as envoys of the two countries and senior officials.

The handover will come close on the heels of the first cross-border container train reaching Bangladesh on Sunday with 50 containers of FMCG goods and fabrics.

India on Friday extended medical assistance worth $ 1 million to North Korea in a rare reach-out to the pariah nation. New Delhi extended the medical assistance in response to a request received from the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.

India is 'sensitive to the shortage of medical supply situation in North Korea and decided to grant humanitarian assistance of $ 1 million in the form of medicines to fight tuberculosis, said the MEA spokesperson.

New Delhi's medical assistance is under the aegis of an ongoing WHO anti-tuberculosis programme in North Korea and hence exempted from the sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council.
