A Heart Beats

Today we are releasing a very special single. It is the first song we ever wrote, and it was recorded already back in 2015 (no neoliberal here, that’s for sure, lol).

Some background: When we first started crafting tunes together, we were toying with the name No Glory For Men. It hinted at more than the obvious thematic, but included also a critique of individualism, and a notion against malicious power-hunger and vanity (this is not a religious stance, quite the contrary!).

So why did it take us so long to release this track? All these years we’ve been struggling with label issues, mental health issues, and plain old millennial lethargy.

Today, we want to finally share this track with you. We feel it is equally ugly and beautiful, sad and seductive, sexy and revolting. Ultimately, it is a song inspired by depressing scenes we remember all too well from our childhood, in rooms where women were commodified and abused to nauseating extremes on a daily basis. The song deals with illusions of ownership, unrequited passion, and forbidden rendezvous in transitory arenas…

When “She Moves” was originally produced, the F train felt too popular – and too dogmatic – for us to board. Today, we are tied to the rails, and can hear the silent roar of a high speed train… (Pssst! Look out for our next single, touching on trains and other fun stuff, out very, very soon!) 😘

Kengännauhabudjetilla ja täysin ilman rahallista tukea tehty videomme on mukana OMVF - Oulu Music Video Festivalissa. Jes! Muistoissa edelleen ihan älytön 19h kuvauspäivä, hakureissu Faunatar Itis josta lainattiin upeasti esiintyvä rapu (hänestä pidettiin hyvää huolta!), museosuojattu ja liikkumaton Rolls Royce joka piti jollain konstilla säätää pois autotallista kuvausten alta, valuraudasta tehdyn kylpyammeen metskaus ja roudaus, lukuisiin Huutonet-myyjiin tutustuminen, lukemattomien peilinpalasten liimaaminen pääkalloon, lainatut lasiastiat, kankaat, valot, vesi, jää, muovi, jauhot, sokerit ja erinäiset nesteet...
