Although I rarely drink white wine, this Ceretto Langhe Arneis always surprises me. Full bodied nose, very peachy and an excellent mouthfeel. Medium long finish.
One to enjoy.

Today I tasted the Chianti classico 2017 from , a 100% Sangiovese.

This delightful Chianti starts with strong red cherries and strawberries. A nice undertone of oak makes it complete.
In the mouth you feel the high acidity but almost no tanins.
Pleasant spices in the medium long finish.

Perfect to drink now.
Drank this one with a tagliatelle bolognese.

Today I tasted the Antica Chiusina Vino Nobile di Montepulciano from 2012. A wine from

Perfect to drink now.

Aroma's of wood, leather, ripe plum and blackberry, also hints of vanilla.

This full bodied wine gives you a sensation in the mouth with it's integrated tanins and pleasant acidity. Nice long finish.

Drank this with fresh pasta and green pesto and shrimps.

Tonight it was time for a red from Vallée d'Aoste. .vins made this beautiful Cornalin 2020.

Soo much fruit in the nose.
Mostly ripe red fruit, cherry and an undertone of chocolate.

Medium and pleasant acidity, low on tanins.

This young, dry and purple wine goes excellent with a simple pasta. You won't have problems finishing this bottle.

Tonight I tasted a Spumante from . It's made in the same way as champagne: metodo classico.

Paolo Manzo makes excellent Barolos from Serralunga but this spumante surprised me.

It is an excellent blanc de noirs. Citrus and yellow apple are the primary aromas. And although it has a high acidity, it also has a buttery mouthfeel.

Very fine mousse and a medium long finish makes this an excellent spumante that I can drink at any time of the day.

One of my favourite Barolo Riservas: Pira Riserva 2011 Terre Del Mago.

Soft and well integrated tanins, nice acidity, amazing flavours and great mouthfeel.

Enjoyed this one with a fresh made pasta 🤤

Today I drank the Hermitage Selection Farconnet from domaine Jean Louis Chave at .cadzand.

Lovely nose of black fruit, leather and leaves. But you need to give it time to open up.

blackberry, oak and black cherry are added in the mouth.
Medium long peppery finish.
Great with seasoned fish.

Today I tasted the La Rocca Gavi 2021 from

It starts with lemon and apple in the nose. Hold it in your mouth to warm it up and release all the other flavours: pineapple, pear and flowers.

Good acidity and a medium finish.

Drank this one with mussles.
It is a good evening 😁

Want to know how being whipped with a belt tastes like?
This 2015 Barolo La Rosa from delivers just that.

Leather, oak, cherry: black and red, plump and a touch of vanilla.

Let the wine roam free in your glass for a while and it will give you a sensation of flavours.
Nice tannins and acidity, long peppery finish and an urge to refill your glass before it’s empty makes this one of the better barolos I’ve tasted so far.

A La Tosta Barbera d'Asti from 2016.

6 years, purple with a slight touch of brown. Dark ripe fruit, blackberry, plum and a touch of oak.

A typical Barbera with a high but well integrated acidity and a long herbal finish.

The zero dosage Prestige champagne from Boonen-Meunier.
Rich and pleasant mousse with a very fine bubble. Aromas of green apple, brioche, citrus and a lot of minerality.
Very little sulfites so don't be afraid for the day after, enjoy.

A Pira Barolo from 2016 from my fav region: Serralunga. This means lots of acidity and tanins and a ton of flavours.

Waited about an hour before tasting this reddish brown delight.Red cherry, roses, leather, vanilla and oak can be found in the mouth, it finishes with a bit of pepper.

Perfect for aging but don't be afraid to open one up now. With a bit of air this one already shows what Serralunga is.

Leather, blackberry, ripe strawberry, chocolate and even a bit of oak give this young 2017 brunello from Il Pogionne it's character.

This one needed quite a bit of airing time before revealing all the goodness.

Nice integrated acidity and tanins with a long finish that gives a pleasant spice note.

Let this Pomorosso from sit in a karaf for at least half an hour and you'll be rewarded bt flavours of black cherry, ripe blackberries, vanilla, raspberry and a bit of oak.

This young purple wine surprises at every corner. Even in the lingering finish you discover new aromas.

Excellent white from

Golden yellow, this wine hints at something fantastic. Ripe peach and pear in the nose, add minerality and a touch of lemon in mouth.
Nice long aftertaste that makes you dream of the next sip.

Barolo Meriame 2015 from

Lovely Barolo. Needs decanting but after a bit the flavours really come out. Lots of red and black fruit: cherry, black plum blackberry jam but the spices are also present.
Good acidity and soft tanins. A pleasure to drink.

An orange wine: Casa Belfi Bianco 2016.

Light orange and cloudy. This non filtered white wine has a pleasant fruity nose with aromas of lemon and peach. Tastes a bit like sherry in the mouth. Nice acidity. Perfect for a sunny day where you want something else than the standard whites.

Comparison of 2 single vineyard barolos 2017: Luciani & Manzoni from the Silvio Grasso winery.

My preference goes to the Manzoni, a bit more structured and more expressive tanins.
