On this day, 18 December 1943, the Federal Secretary of the Milan section of the Republican Fascist Party, Aldo Resega, was assassinated near his home by partisans of the Italian resistance.
Resega is sometimes depicted as being a relative 'moderate' within Italian fascism, despite having been a committed fascist almost from its inception. A member of the blackshirt paramilitary squads, Resega had taken part in the 1922 March on Rome, which overthrew Italian democracy. In 1935, he volunteered to serve in Mussolini's brutal imperial campaign in East Africa. In 1943, when even some leaders of the Fascist Party had abandoned Mussolini, Resega remained loyal and set up the Milanese section of the Fascist Republican Party (the new name for the Fascist Party in Nazi-occupied Italy).
The day after his death, fascists would carry out reprisals against eight anti-fascists who had nothing to do with the assassination. The day after the reprisal, partisans attacked Resega's funeral procession.
Thousands of blackshirts marched alongside the funeral cortege in what was intended to be a show of strength by the regime.
As the cortege was moving through the streets of central Milan, partisans attacked with hand grenades and machine gun fire. This caused panic among the fascists who, making their escape, ended up abandoning Resega's coffin in the street.

THIS is ethnic cleansing. During Hanukkah, a coalition of settler groups funded by the state of Israel held a conference to discuss a “practical” plan to build the first settlements in Gaza, all while the Israeli government is actively waging a genocidal war on Palestinians.

an Israeli real estate firm with a history of building illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank, unveiled a plan for the homes in Gaza. Their advertisements say: “A house on the beach is not a dream! We have begun clearing rubble and fending off squatters.” Another ad calls Gaza the “Land of Israel. Fight. Liberate. Settle.” and includes a hotline to register for a place in the future settlement.

Just as the Israeli government was crystal clear in its plans to commit genocide, the Israeli government’s post-genocide colonization strategy is explicit and blatant—and a war crime.

We can stop this. Don’t look away. All eyes on Palestine.

What could possibly go wrong regarding ads revenues?

On this day, 9 December 1842, revolutionary, scientist, and philosopher Peter Kropotkin was born in Russia. He later abandoned his aristocratic background in favour of the working class struggle.
He participated in the 1917 Russian revolution, and wrote numerous influential works, including Mutual Aid: a Factor of Evolution. In this work he criticised interpretations of the ideas of Charles Darwin which focused on competition, and highlighted instances of cooperation in the natural world. "If we ... ask Nature: 'who are the fittest: those who are continually at war with each other, or those who support one another?' we at once see that those animals which acquire habits of mutual aid are undoubtedly the fittest. They have more chances to survive, and they attain, in their respective classes, the highest development of intelligence and bodily organisation."
These ideas continue to be influential today. Evolutionary biologist Stephen Jay Gould wrote of Kropotkin: "I would hold that Kropotkin’s basic argument is correct. Struggle does occur in many modes, and some lead to cooperation among members of a species as the best pathway to advantage for individuals. If Kropotkin overemphasized mutual aid, most Darwinians in Western Europe had exaggerated competition just as strongly. If Kropotkin drew inappropriate hope for social reform from his concept of nature, other Darwinians had erred just as firmly (and for motives that most of us would now decry) in justifying imperial conquest, racism, and oppression of industrial workers as the harsh outcome of natural selection in the competitive mode."
Kropotkin's ideas were central in the theoretical foundation of contemporary anarchist communism.

On this day, 7 November 1912, the Industrial Workers of the World's newspaper the Industrial Worker published the first Mr. Block comic strip by Ernest Riebe.
The character Mr. Block is a man "devoid of class-consciousness" who blindly believes that America is the land of opportunity, hard work pays off, and the boss looks out for the employee, thus he is "the personification of all that a worker should not be."
Furthermore, through these comics, Riebe satirised reformist organisations such as the American Federation of Labor and the Socialist Party of America.
In the next year, twenty-four of the Mr. Block strips were compiled into America’s first radical comic book, and famous IWW songwriter Joe Hill wrote a song named after the character.

"It’s really hard to explain to comrades abroad how collective the Zionist project is. Israel doesn’t have a real civil society. everything is acceptable, as long as it is within very limited, pre-defined borders. The narrow vision or rebellion within Zionist landscape can be demonstrated for example in the mass protest movement to „save Israeli democracy” during the land few months (currently on hold due to war) against the judicial reform. Ancaps will tell to their gullible followers that they want "Liberty" and absolute freedom of speech in public spaces.
It sounds good, but there is a catch:
They don' t want public spaces to exist in the first place. They demand public property to be abolished and all land to become private, wich would de facto abolish freedom of speech everywhere. Ancaps defend the right of landowners to silence people and to limit political freedom on their private property... One could argue that maybe there could be freedom of speech on streets and roads, but then again, Ancaps want all streets and roads to be privatized, which would annihilate freedom of speech on streets, roads and public squares.
