Adrak/ Sonth
Zingiber officinale Rose., Common name : Ardraka/Sunthi

Indigestion : 5 gm. crushed rhizome with salt or jaggery twice daily before meal.

Ear Pain : 2-4 drops of fresh warm juice to be instilled in the ear (don't use when there is discharge)

Hoarseness of voice : 1-3 gm. powder of dry rhizome with honey in three divided doses.

Aches and pains : 10-20 ml. decoction prepared from 2 gm.of dry rhizome twice a day.

Cold / cough : 2-5 gm. powder of dry rhizome with jaggery thrice a day in divided doses. 10ml. decoction prepared from a piece of ginger every morning prevents recurrent attack of cold.

Head ache : Warm paste should be applied over forehead upto 3 - 4 times a day.

Abdominal pain : 5 ml. juice in a glass of butter milk with lemon & salt.

Ingredients:

Turmeric Powder – 4 Tbsp

Cumin Seed powder – 2 Tbsp

Flaxseed powder – 1 Tbsp

Cinnamon Powder – 2 Tbsp

Black Pepper powder – 1 Tbsp

Ginger Powder – 1 Tbsp

Green Tea – 5 Tea Bags

How to make it:

Mix all the ingredients. You can also grind all together. Keep it in a tight container.

How to take it:

Take 1/2 Tbsp of this powder in 1 cup of warm water. Keep it aside for 3-4 minutes and then drink it without straining. Take this weight loss drink two times, after 30 minutes of lunch and dinner.

Ingredients:

1/2 tsp ajwain seeds

5 Basil or Tulsi leaves

1/2 tsp of black pepper powder

1 tsp honey

How to make it: Take a pan and add 1 glass of water, carom seeds, black pepper and basil leaves in it. Let the water boil for 5 minutes. Turn off the gas and strain the concoction in a cup. Let the mixture cool down for a while before adding honey to it

Ajwain or carom seeds have powerful medicinal properties and have been used for treating different health ailments for a long time. The anti-inflammatory properties of this commonly available spice can help to boost immunity and provide relief from severe cold and cough. Adding basil leaves, black pepper and honey to this drink makes the concoction even more effective.
