What once started as a coldwave cover band in the early 1990s (think Bauhaus, Joy Division and Siglo XX), grew into a reference in the genre in the early 2000s. Spiral of Silence was often referred to as 'the Belgian Joy Division' and regularly shared the bill with artists such as Gary Numan and Front 242.
