With his first documentary "Trenches", Loup Bureau takes his audience to the Donbass - in a reality of war, where Russian-backed separatists are fought by Ukrainian soldiers. Don't miss the chance to join our friends and partners at WARM Academy for the 4th edition of their multidisciplinary educational program which will feature a series of masterclasses, workshops, and interactive panel discussions that present cutting-edge approaches, innovative techniques, and best practices being utilized across the globe to address issues related to contemporary conflicts and post-conflict transitions.
The Academy will be taking place in Sarajevo in parallel with the WARM Festival and focus on the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Afghanistan, among others, and the role of reporters, artists, and academics in times of crisis.

We're wraping up this years program with graphic designer Bojan Hadžihalilović who will talk about magazine front pages, and a team of amazing young people presenting KUMA International and Mahala magazine!

For the 1st afternoon session we'll listen to Haleh Anvari, artist and arts and culture journalist with a special interest in photography based in Tehran.
The Talking Walls of Tehran, originally delivered to the Society of Iranian studies in Vienna in August 2016 deciphers the changes in the ideology of the state through the changes in the style of murals in Tehran through a collection of photographs taken by Anvari over several years living and watching the city’s walls.
Our next speaker is Džemil Hodžić, a Video Editor at Al Jazeera English, and founder of the ‘Sniper Alley Project’. Through this project Džemil aims to establish a database to record and archive the life of his brother, who was killed by a sniper during the Sarajevo Siege, as well as live experiences of thousands of children of Sarajevo during the war. Collecting photos of the Siege and preserving the memory of survival through the eyes of the children living under the oppressive conditions of war.
Friday, July 9th, 2nd morning session!
Last day of the WARM Academy starts with Pulitzer prize winning photographer Soe Zeya Tun, who will be talking about Visual history of Myanmar uprisings, a personal view.

Our last session of the day is by author Kenneth Morrison and photographer Paul Lowe who will be talking about their book "Reporting the siege of Sarajevo". This session is also going to be held @ Kino Meeting point and open for public!

We are delighted to announce this trio of multi-award winners: film director Jasmila Žbanić, anti-war reporter Ed Vulliamy and photographer and WARM Foundation director Damir Šagolj.
