Happy graduation to all the bigs and littles out there!
These were for a super special pre-K grad group, and I wish them the brightest academic future!

Took two weeks to go travel with family. We saw a ton of wild animals, but nothing like a hippocampus! It's so fun to return and get to make these fun mythological creature mascot cookies for a hardworking team!

*Hippocampus is a mythological creature shared by Phoenician, Etruscan, Pictish, Roman, and Greek mythology, though its name has a Greek origin. It is typically depicted as having the upper body of a horse with the lower body of a fish.

I am so proud of this first grade class. They worked hard and earned a cookie party! Paint your own cookies are always fun and easy for large groups.
Each kid had a character cookie from their class favorite author and a design your own blank.

Gergaoon' is celebrated every year on the 14th night of Ramadan throughout the Gulf countries. 

This joyous occasion is celebrated with children singing melodic music from door to door and collecting candies and treats into their decorated bags. Girls wear rich, colorful, embroidered jalabiyas and gold jewelry, while boys are adorned in traditional Bahraini thobes, jackets, and caps. Both embrace the tradition and costumes proudly.

This deeply rooted tradition has been celebrated for hundreds of years in different parts of the Gulf region to reward Muslim children for fasting.

The sweets are known as Gergaoon in Bahrain, and under other names throughout the Gulf such as Karkee’aan in Saudi Arabia, Gargee’aan in Kuwait, and Hag Al Leylah in the UAE.
Historically, children were given dates,sugar, rice, etc., but more modern things are candies, nuts, and cookies!
