Zeinner's Paleoart
A 19 year-old hobbyist, trying to reconnect with the life and beauty of what once was.
By far my largest and most ambitious project to date. I can't find words to express how happy I am with it. I enjoyed every moment of it, and I hope it also appeals to you. I have compiled a document describing my goals for this project as well as providing a narrative for the scenes. With this post, I make it publicly available to all those interested in reading it. This is the link to the PDF, let me know if you have any issues regarding it:

I would love to know what you think of it. With that say, have a great day!
Mons et Tempestatis - Petrichor
The rains have subsided before daybreak. The first rays of light come shooting through a rocky outcrop to reveal renewed life at the humble pond formed at the foot of the red-painted rock faces.
The second of two dioramas, contrasting and complementing its predecessor. It is a much larger diorama, representing the larger environment of the Bromacker. It is a 1:20 scale model measuring 120 x 60 cm. In it, the various basal tetrapods, reptiles, and some insects go about their routine by a small ephemeral pond.
Mons et Tempestatis - Downpour
Splashes of water make their way to the margins of the minor dancing channels where dry expanses of sand and mud cracks carpet the feet of hills and mountain slopes. The nimble rivers grow broad and stalwart.
The first of two dioramas representing the multifarious environment of the Bromacker Quarry, Germany. This diorama, 40cm in diameter, shows the many small inhabitants of the quarry as they face a raging storm by the margins of a braided river. Cockroaches, grubs, a millipede, and a spider, all gather around fallen trunks and seed fern fronds.
"The Smell Of Fear"
Diorama, July 2020
An adult Yangchuanosaurus is on the lookout for its next meal. It's dry season, and it hasn't eaten for days. A pair of subadult Gigantspinosaurus have masked their scent with dirt and found a hiding place among a set of fallen branches. The predator has picked up on a faint smell and approaches. The stegosaurids remain motionless, hoping they won't be spotted.

"Tough Competition"
Pencil and charcoal, October 2018
This is a scene depicting two male Procolophon competing for a female's attention. Their goal is to stay on the fallen Ginkgo branch and vocalize, but each competitor engages in a series of pushes and pulls trying to gain advantage. The beaches were brought down by a recent storm, taking with them nutritious foliage and insects from the canopies above. This gret feast is an attractive for all sorts of small critters, including many ground-dwelling insects and the Procolophons.
