Chocobo’s now at home and recovering well! We’ve set her up in a bathroom where it can be her safe place while she continues to heal.

Also, here’s the receipts of her bone reattachment surgery plus the prescriptions she’s on right now.

Chocobo is doing fairly well and even attempts to walk every now and then! She’s a bit skinny due to being on a wet food diet but she’ll slowly gain back the weight as she gains more strength.

We didn’t want to bother her much as she settled so we’ll take more pics and vids of her tomorrow!

Thank you so much to the animal loving community for giving us the opportunity to be able to give Chocobo her much needed medical needs.

She has gotten surgery last September 5, 2021 (SUN) night and is currently still in the vet hospital for monitoring and recovery. However, we spoke to the vet and she should be ready for discharge any time soon. Tomorrow at the soonest!

We will be picking her up once she's cleared and update everyone on her condition plus the receipts of her treatment.

Chocobo has gotten the surgery last September 5, 2021 (SUN) night and remain in confinement in the vet hospital for the week. By the end of the week, need to make the full payment to the vet before Chocobo can get released.

CHOCOBO Update: 10 AM from the vet

Chocobo's on her 2nd bag of IV fluids and she did not take the morning meal given to her.

Thankfully, she finally managed to p**p; although, her stool was a bit dry, possibly because of how clogged her bowels are due to the inflammation of her hips. She has also p*ed a good amount in the morning.

Chocobo is a quiet girl but she remains alert and responsive to her surroundings.

We are still trying to raise enough funds for Chocobo's life-saving bone reattachment surgery. We will be needing an amount of 55,000 PHP to be able to afford all the medical are she requires.

The community has already raised 37,361 PHP and we cannot thank everyone enough for this! However, Chocobo's struggles are not over and we need to see this through for her sake.

She is currently at the vet and doing well as they observe her condition. By Wednesday, we will be able to take her home until we can find an ortho specialist vet to perform the surgery on her. This life saving surgery is estimated to cost 40,460 PHP.

We have raised 23,170 PHP on our first day of fundraising for Chocobo! We are absolutely floored by the support which has made it possible for us to get Chocobo the initial medical care she needs.

However, we are not finished with this job. Chocobo needs bone reattachment surgery for the extreme breakage on her right leg. The surgery is estimated to cost around 40,460 PHP, without prescription medicine.

But for now, we can rest easy that Chocobo is at the vet. Thank you, everyone!

Chocobo's Initial check up!

As we've raised 23,170 PHP for Chocobo, we brought her to the vet for initial assessments, tests, and treatment. We spent a total of 13,190 PHP for her first check and she's currently boarding there for better care and observation until Wednesday. An itemized receipt is attached to this post!

Anyhow, let's get to vet findings.

With x-rays, it shows that her right leg has been broken right near where her hip is by. Her left leg is pretty banged up as well but it's not as broken as her right. Because of the extent of the right leg's breakage, she's going to need a bone reattachment surgery. We got a quote from the vet and it'll cost around 40,060 PHP so we'll need to raise the fund goal! We can go do this, guys!

Also, another point of concern is that the current animal hospital where Chocobo is confined, the only available ortho specialist who can perform the surgery will come next week but she needs the surgery ASAP. So while Chocobo is being taken care of at the vet, we will be calling around nearby clinics if they have an earlier surgery date available.

For the tests they performed on her, the blood tests show that she has a higher white blood cell count due to the inflammation of her waist down area due to injury. This condition made it difficult for Chocobo to poo and p*e. But she's given 2 different antibiotics to counter this. Chocobo also has slight anemia so an iron supplement has been prescribed too. Furthermore, her platelet count was quite low so we did a precautionary blood parasite test to see if she's healthy enough for surgery. Thankfully, there were no blood parasites detected on her.

We left her to board at the hospital for 3 days so that she can get the best possible care. The fact that she has multiple medications is a hard task so we'd rather professionals administer it to her. We also got her a dextrose to prevent dehydration as she's been eating and drinking poorly. The vet will also put her on a wet food recovery diet while there.

Thanks to everyone for making this possible! We'll still be fundraising for the bone reattachment surgery and we hope to reach it ASAP so that Chocobo can make a full recovery!
