Act III of Merlot's story:
"Not knowing who it was at the time, all she knew was that they offered her a chance, a choice to change her life forever. And she took it. After escaping Baldur’s Gate with the help of the voice, they offered her an official deal. With terms and conditions, Merlot signed away her soul without hesitation. She was willing to trade one cage for another, a more gilded one. And so the voice became known as Verenestra, a powerful ArchFey from the Seelie Court. She was a jealous and vain mistress, this was proof enough with the marks she gave Merlot once the deal was complete. She trained the young half elf, showed her how to use magic and blades. Then sent her to work, as her own personal assassin. So that is what Merlot did for 11 years, killing the most beautiful or talented people all across Faerun in exchange for her own continued freedom. Verenestra erased every trail that Merlot left behind, making it impossible to track the girl down. So long as she didn’t step foot in Baldur’s Gate that is."

Depois de fugir de Baldur's Gate com a ajuda da voz, lhe foi oferecido um pacto oficialmente. Com termos e condições, Merlot negociou sua alma sem hesitar. Ela queria trocar uma jaula por outra, maior. E então a voz se revelou ser Verenestra, uma poderosa ArqueFada da courte de Seelie. Ela era uma patrona ciumenta e vaidosa, o que foi provado com as marcas que deu à Merlot quando o contrato entre elas foi feito. Ela treinou a jovem meio-elfa, ensinando-a a usar magia e espadas. Então a mandou ao trabalho, como sua ass4ssina pessoal. E isso foi o que Merlot fez por 11 anos, ass4ssinando as pessoas mais belas ou talentosas de Faerun em troca da sua liberdade continuada. Verenestra apagava todos os traços que Merlot deixava para trás, tornando impossível localizá-la. Desde que ela não pisase em Baldur's Gate."

Sir Zander Calderon, a powerful and influential Bard known all around the Gate, was to be her husband. He was charismatic and charming…in public. Behind closed doors, Merlot quickly learned to fear him even more than her father. He never tried to hide her bruises, knowing she’d never say anything anyways. This abuse resulted in 3 pregnancies that Merlot was actively aware of, but none of them made it to full term due to his treatment. The duration of this abuse lasted a little over 3 years until one night while Merlot was laying in bed…she heard a woman’s voice calling out to her."

Patch Notes:
- Negative Status Effect of Back Pain now lasts until a Long Rest, unless dispelled with the use of Painkiller Items.
- General Agility Debuff of -10%. This is a cumulative debuff.
- Short Rests no longer take effect on Negative Status Effects such as Back Pain, Migraine and Knee Pains.
- Knee Bending Abilities have received a -5% debuff. This debuff is cumulative.
- Money Bag Space increased in 15%.
- Inventory Space increased in 20%.
- Ability to Adopt Cats was buffed in 25%. This is a permanent and cumulative buff.
- The Skill "Recreational Time" has now been debuffed to -50% of duration.
- Energy Drink and Coffee Items no longer take effect on the player.
