The Own Bahamas Foundation
In 2015 OWN Bahamas in conjunction with the IL Cares Foundation was launched. OWN Bahamas is an initiative focused on offering entrepreneurial opportunities for Bahamians who have new and exciting ideas within existing or new industries.
“Our main goal is to assist Bahamians with financial support, mentorship, and business know-how, while helping to remove other barriers that may prevent small start-up businesses from succeeding”, said Sebastian Bastian, Own Bahamas Founder.
The OWN Bahamas Foundation is a legally recognized as a non-profit in The Bahamas. The organization is dedicated to the development of Bahamian entrepreneurs by providing access to grants that will assist in their entrepreneurial endeavors. Since its establishment, OWN Bahamas has assisted over 100 startups and provided additional funding for existing businesses. It has also hosted “OWN Talks” events which serve to inspire and engage entrepreneurs as they embark on or continue their journey of ownership.
