On the joyous occasion of the 115th National Day, the Regional Revenue and Custom office(RRCO) Thimphu joins the nation in offering our solemn prayers for continued peace and prosperity in the country under dynamic foresighted leaders.

The RRCO, Thimphu in collaboration with Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) conducted the User training on BETA (Bhutan Estimated Tax) Apps under Thimphu Region (Thimphu, Punakha, Wangdue, Gasa & Paro) on 1st December, 2022. The participants from different business sector are made familiarity of tax assessment process, other than BETA Apps during the training. This expects to digitize the taxpayer’s service for small and micro business to file BIT in upcoming filing season for 2023. The taxpayers can choose RRCO, or, either BCCI trained officials to assist during the season to declare and file BIT through apps.
More than 60 representatives from different business entities have availed the training. The BCCI will schedule the next batch of taxpayers to be trained for the same.

A representatives from the Agriculture and Renewable Natural Resources (RNR), Business Infrastructure Development, Cooperatives, Creative Industry, CSI, Education, Energy, (excluding hydroelectric project), Health (ICT, excluding telecommunication), Manufacturing, Mining, Tourism, Transport, Waste Management and Recycling Industries under the jurisdiction of Punakha and Wangdue Dzongkhag have attended the a Advocacy Workshop on Fiscal Incentives Act of Bhutan 2021.

The same have been started for the interested participants for the Thimphu Dzongkhag. More than 60 representatives from such entities have attended the program so far. The program is organized by the RRCO, Thimphu.

Time Extended for Tax Filing

Tax Filing due dates for 2022 extended

On 10th March, 2022, the Regional Revenue and Custom Office (RRCO) Thimphu in collaboration with the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry(BCCI), Thimphu conducted a two hour Virtual meeting on usage of the BETA APP . As a matter of fact, this is a second workshop (VC) and the intent of the workshop is to sensitize on usage of BIT estimated Tax App (BETA) by the small and micro business entities. The Resource persons from RRCO Thimphu and Public Information Service, DRC have presented PPT slides to participants about BETA App. Representatives from the Dzongkhag Business Development Committee from Wangdue, Gasa, Punakha, Haa and Paro Dzongkhag, and also Representatives from Trader Association of Bhutan, Association for Bhutanese Cable Operators (ABCO), Association for Bhutanese Cable Operator (ABCO), Horticulture Association of Bhutan, Construction Association of Bhutan, Association of wood based Industries and Hotel & Restaurant Association of Bhutan (HRAB) have attended two hour VC meeting. While the central focus of the VC was on sensitization of BETA App, the RRCO Thimphu also clarified on other implementation issues during the Q & and; A session. As always, RRCO is hopeful that todays’ representatives/ participants would disseminate the information about BETA App with other business entities ( license holders) under their respective Dzongkhags and Gewogs.
