ZANGRA WEAVING PRODUCTS, THE UNIQUELY WAMRONG CULTURE OF THE EASTERN BHUTAN.
Unlike other places in Bhutan, the people of Wamrong in the east, particularly at LUMANG geog are engaging their life in weaving to sustain lives besides their agricultural work. Instead, they weave local name(ZANGRA)which is made up of a nettle plant.

Visit the eastern valley in Trashigang and you’ll see all kinds women's and men's clothes wear of all ages hard work, into colourful, intricate patterns.

These designs are a unique speciality that is found only in Wamrong, a legacy that spans back many generations.

People can use ZANGRA products to make coats, bedding material, furniture covers, and accessories. Sometimes, they create bags of specific designs with ZANGRA weaves at the request of the customer, mostly tourists. It is no surprise that tourists are eager for this uniquely Trashigang souvenir. Build up program 6: Local Product Outlet

The Dzongkhag Administration, Trashigang in collaboration with Dzongkhag Business Development Committee (DBDC) inaugurated local product outlet inside the existing Vegetable Market yesterday, Trashigang Throm as one of the buildup programs of upcoming 115th National Day with the theme “Promote our local products” with the sole aim of promoting local products and upscale entrepreneurship skills.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Lam Neten, Dasho Dzondag, Dasho SP, Regional heads, shopkeepers and public of Trashigang throm.
