"I LOVE MY FAMILY" is a common phrase that people use when it comes to their loved ones❤👨‍👩‍👧 but have we defined what it really means to love your children?? Your spouse??
Part of loving your family is being intentional about healing from the parts of you that cause you to be "Angry"
"Anxious"
"Violent"
"Emotionally absent"
"Resentful"
"Unforgiving" etc.

As uncomfortable😫 as it may be to face your past hurts, trauma, disappointments and all those things that happened to you and have shaped the adult you have become and continue to influence your decisions; LOVE❤ is such a powerful force that can overcome the conversation in your head convincing you that you are "fine" and that you don't need counselling or any other means of finding healing.

🔺️Cycles/patterns repeat and family foundations that are hurtful especially to children continue to exist in the society because someone did not decide to break the cycle,
🔺️Because someone has not decided yet to be different,
🔺️Because someone has not decided to take a different route,
🔺️Because someone has given into temporary comfort of ignoring parts of themselves they need to heal from.

GO SEEK HELP, GO FOR COUNSELLING, NORMALIZE MENTAL HEALTH CHECK UPS!!!!!!!

Checked in 📍 today.
The session got us reflecting on my journey since the year began 😊😊😊 and having noted that the year 2021 didn't start on such a high note for me and the progress i have made since then 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 I am proud of myself and the woman I will become tomorrow will always be grateful to the one I am now. 🌟🌟🌟

I had to deal with my academic distress, disappointments and the difficulties I had been facing in the university especially after having maintained a great academic track record from kindergarten. 🔺️🔺️🔺️ met failure for the 1st time in Varsity and it got me messed up throughout my stay here, and I must say I have made great progress thus far.🤞🤞🤞
Looking forward to my exams as it is, and for the 1st time ever in all of my stay in the university do I have so much strength to face the end of one academic year 🌻🌻🌻 this is indeed great progress for me.

My most important calendar notification 🗓🗓🗓
Once or twice every month this would pop up on my screen 🥺🍃😊 because birth of results is anchored to consistency.
Healing is a work in progress and requires the effort, the consistency, the discipline and the energy to keep at it. 🎯🤞🏼🏵
Some days I look forward to my appointment, some I don't 🤦🏽‍♀️
Other days like today I even forget I have an appointment 🤦🏽‍♀️ but the intentionallity and rallying behind my healing with full force 💪🏼🙌🏽 makes me set reminders on my calendar.

Some days I already know what I am going to tell my therapist, other days I don't but I still show up. 💛🙌🏽🤞🏼
About today; I really wasn't prepared for this session😅 I just went to honour my appointment🤞🏼🤦🏽‍♀️.
Got there, gave feedback and got into the usual business of the session, I suddenly started crying 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 just at answering a question of how have you been.? Right in that instance I knew I was being asked to paint a picture of the anxiety I had been experiencing in the past week. After I did, my therapist said, "you only sound like a wounded soldier"

He went on to remind me that "a pensil✏ is not a pensil without lead" and that "a pensil can never carry out its function with excellence unless it is well sharpened". He further explained that I am only going through a sharpening and preparedness for functioning in excellence......

☘A mirror that allows you to see yourself from an external perspective.

☘God's Idea to speak His mind to you concerning your life through an external party.

☘Accountability through which you track your progress In your pursuit for healing.

☘Taking Responsibility for what you did and/or did not do to get to where you are at as you make your way to the place you desire to be mentally.

Keeping yourself entertained🎶 can help improve you mental health.🍃
You can create a good playlist from some music you enjoy 🎶🎧
You can make music yourself (sing, play instruments etc.) 🎷🎸🎹🎺🎤
You can learn how to make music 😁😁😁
(Write a song, add melody to it, learn how to play an instrument)

Just do it. 🧘🏽‍♀️🧘🏽‍♂️ It helps 🍃

Tired🤦🏽‍♀️🥺 "I really don't know what to do😭😭😭"

The one thing you think of when tired is inactivity; sleeping, sitting down etc. That's because your physical body shuts down and doesn't want to do anything.

What if I am mentally tired?? Emotionally exhausted🥺😭
And honestly "don't know what to do...??"

🌿🌾 "It's OK, you don't have to do anything" 🤞🏼🌻
The pressure to come up with a solution and take ourselves out of our stress and misery does nothing but make the situation worse.

You need your active and healthy mind/mindset to come up with a solution. When you are emotionally tired there is less room for creativity and solution provision. It's Ok you don't have to do anything. Let that sink

Go for a run🏃‍♀️ or walk🚶‍♀️
Listen to music 🎶
Watch a movie🎞
Cry 😭😅 (yah it helps)
Listen to a motivational podcast🎙 or video 🎧
Etc.
The point is calm down 🌾🌾🌾
YOU GONNA BE OK...
