The Track and Signs course, an enriching immersion in nature and a deep dive in further developing the unseen world of tracks and signs left behind by animals and natural processes. #natureguide #trailsguide #tracks #tracksandsigns #fieldguidetraining #trailsguidecourses #natureguidecourses

An immersive experience in nature, getting you closer to all aspects of nature. #trailsguidecourses #fieldguidetraining #fieldguide #natureguide #bqa #fgasa #natureguidecourses

Our social media guy was napping on this one but here is a quick description of one of the many courses we offer here at African Guide Academy! The Nature Guide course offers you the fundamental underpinnings to become a field guide in Southern Africa. Everything from grass, invertebrates, trees to stars, mammals and birds - the nature guide course allows you to gain a basic foundation of knowledge for the environment around us.

Geology rocks… 👀 the foundational building blocks of everything we see around us and the basis of ecology! #geology #rocks #okavangodelta #trailsguidecourse #natureguidecourse #floodplain #kalahari #ecology #education #EnvironmentalImpact

And what’s a Nature Guide course without some 4x4 driving? #trailsguidecourse #natureguidecourse #trailsguidecourse #trailsguidecourse #4x4 #4x4life #offroading

There have been some rare sightings as of late. Aardwolfs mating. Some more leopard action. Even wild cats have made an appearance. But this is something special. Aardvark! We’ve seen a couple in the last few weeks actually but we haven’t managed to take any pictures though. So to grab it on the camera trap from @ecoexisttrust was a treat! Have you seen one before? #rare #animalencounters #nighttime #wildlife #natureguide #fieldguide #illusive

Botany and plants, another vital component of becoming a field guide. Here @rangerjon13 is putting us through our paces by getting us to really dissect what plant and tree identification is about. Up close and personal using all the components of a tree to help us identify them. Do you have a favourite tree?#botany #plants #tree #trees #treesofinstagram #fieldguide #natureguide #safariguide

Dabi Okwa showing us what she’s made of during her Nature Guide course here at Kwapa Camp. Could she be Botswanas next top female guide? We think so 👀 #womeninwilderness #safariguidetraining #guidetraining #womensafari

Birds! A key component in our nature guide courses and in becoming a Nature Guide is to get acquainted with the birds around you. They’re some of the more dynamic creatures around us - flying, swooping, chirping and calling, they can provide entertainment for hours on end. One of the more special things about them is how wide spread they are. So whenever you’re in a city you feel disconnected from nature, look outside, there might just be a bird there to help you remember that nature is all around you. Big or small, we don’t mind because after all… bird is the word 🤠#birdwatching #birdistheword #birding #ornithology #natureguide #natureguidetraining

@paaatsch, a loyal AGA alumni, has joined us again for an incredible Trails Guide Course. His passion and dedication when it comes to gaining knowledge about the bush is second to none and we look forward to having him back here in the future. Another awesome student from @Natucate

Earlier this year, @connecttrust hosted a course at Kwapa Camp, training veterinarians, wildlife experts, and stakeholders in Botswana to better respond to wildlife poisoning incidents. During their stay, they tagged and released vultures to track their movements. Recently, we received distressing news: one of the tracked vultures reported mortality not far from the camp. After a couple of days of searching through dense Mopani forest on foot, Xhomuzi Sarefu Xhabara (Richie) and Rafael Bloch located the vulture. Sadly, they discovered a poisoned giraffe carcass (likely intended for lions) and several dead vultures. All-in-all, devastating to a broader range of wildlife. Working with wildlife authorities and the anti-poaching unit, they swiftly removed all poisoned carcasses. Thank you to Connect Trust for the work you guys are doing to try and safeguard our natural world & also Richie and Raf for your unwavering dedication. 🦅🌍 #WildlifeProtection #ConservationHeroes
