When I started my career as a makeup artist 6 years ago, there was nobody teaching me how to best go about it. I relied solely on YouTube for information about products as well as techniques to achieving a perfect makeup look.

While that worked for me and helped me sharpen my skills and foward my career, it would have also been more helpful to have a personalized experience with a class like this where an artist from home shared their experience, skills and techniques with me. Learning online is great but I think learning from someone in the same proximity as you is even better.

With that said, let me reintroduce myself. My name is Bridget Modibedi. I started playing with makeup in late 2017 when my skin experienced the worst acne breakout. It was a difficult time for me, my confidence got knocked all the way down and I needed a quick fix, something to help me cover and conceal what was going on with my skin.

While that was such a dark time for me, I did not realize in that moment that God was using what felt like the worst thing to ever happen to me to turn it for my good, to help me discover my hidden talent. I won’t bore you with details but I sought dermatological intervention and my skin got better in 2019.

I still continued sharpening my makeup skills and pursued it as a business while I was still in university. 6 years later, I’ve done makeup on Kamo Mphela, Miss GeeKays, Mpho Sebina, Simmy and Nadia Nakai just to name a few. I’ve built a solid brand with a good reputation for providing quality services. I have a beauty studio that provides more than just makeup services.

My career in the beauty industry is thriving and I’m at a point where I want to teach and share my experience with those who aspire to get here or those who just want to learn for themselves.

With my experience of 6 years, I’ve acquired so many skills and even developed techniques of my own that I would love to share through classes like this.
