‼️TRY THIS TASTY, NUTRIENT DENSE TREAT THE NEXT TIME YOURE CRAVING SOMETHING CRUNCHY & SWEET‼️

🍎thinly slice a fuji apple (or apple of choice😋) and spread out on a plate
🥜warm up 1 tbsp of almond butter with a splash of vanilla in it- drizzle it on the apple slices
🥄sprinkle on 1-2 tbsp of h**p hearts
🍯drizzle 1 tbsp of honey over apples
🥄sprinkle with cinnamon

BOILED EGGS! 🥚

RECIPE‼

🌱Veggie, Black Bean & Brown Rice Burgers🌱

1. Mash 1 can (540 mL/19 oz) of black beans- leave it a bit chunky

2. Mix in 2 cups of cooked brown rice with the beans. I cooked mine with broth for some extra flavour.

3. Sautee orange and yellow peppers, white onion and garlic. Season with S&P, chili flakes, cumin, paprika, and chili powder.

4. Mix in 1 cup of the sauteed veggies with the rice and bean mix.

5. Add oatmeal. Start with just 1/4 C, mix and let sit for a few minutes while oatmeal absorbs moisture. Add a little bit more at a time until you reach desired consistency.

6. Pan fry in a little avocado oil. Wipe pan and add new oil each batch. Dont play with the burgers while they cook to allow them to crisp up and avoid falling apart 😁

🍴🍴Great for burgers, to crumble over salads, on a wrap... BON APPETITE!🍴🍴

One of my favorite things about eating mostly with lots of fresh fruit and veg is that they are not anywhere near as energy dense as many of our more processed, sugary foods we see filling our grocery store shelves....

You know what that means?! 😁

You can likely eat MORE food & MORE often!

So, if you love eating (Hi, my name is Lauren and I LOVE to eat 💘) and want to start feeding your body to support future you, plan in some fresh, whole foods to reduce your risk of chronic disease, boost your mood, improve digestion, have more energy for the things and people you love in your life(the list goes on and on!)

🍒FRUIT🍒

Nature’s pure, perfect food resulting from a healthy growing cycle 😊

💦Just like humans, fruits are largely made up of water

🍌They are LOW IN FAT and HIGH IN FIBER- the opposite to the standard American diet which is HIGH FAT and LOW FIBER

🍉Fruit is best eaten alone or several hours after other foods due to their fast digestion

🍏 Eating fruits alone can help prevent them from fermenting in the digestive tract which can be a cause of gas, bloating and stress on the body

🍓If blood sugar levels are a concern, pairing fruits with healthy fats/proteins can help slow their digestion and promote stable blood sugar levels throughout the day 📉 Tracking and trending your bodies response is the best way to find what works best for you!

🛑 SHOULDER CIRCUIT 🛑

Equipment needed: ☝️Resistance band

1. Bicep curl and side arm raise
2. Bent over back row
3. Triceps press back
4. Straight arm press back
5. External rotation
6. External rotation and abduction

😁 Giver a go!

2-4 sets of 10-15 repetitions 💪

🎀REMINDER🎀 A little bit of movement is better than none at all!!!

I used:
🥥 Toasted coconut
🥭 Dried mango
🍓dried goji berries
🌰 Roasted almonds (no salt)
🥜 Roasted, salted cashews
🎃 Pepitas (pumpkin seeds)

💥 Ever wonder where trail mix got its name? Well, just as the name suggests, it was/is an easy to carry, nutrient dense snack to fuel you along a good trail hike!

🏞 Pack up your mix and hit the trails this long weekend guys! Get out and enjoy some movement in the fresh air- I hope the sun shines wherever you may be 🌞

💦💦 Water Soluble Vitamins 💦💦

🍋 Dissolve in water

🍊 Include mainly the B vitamins and vitamin C

🍋 Are not stored in the body, so we must consume them regularly

🍊 Are much less potentially toxic than fat-soluble vitamins (A,D,E,K), which DO get stored in the body

🍋 Water-soluble vitamins combine with inactive protein in the body to make active enzymes (Enzymes speed up chemical reactions- without water soluble vitamins, these reactions would either not be completed at all or would proceed very slowly!)

🍊 Vitamins are essential for growth, vitality and health
