In our hearts and minds, we hold a sacred space to honor and remember the Indigenous children who endured residential schools. We acknowledge the pain, trauma, and cultural erasure they endured, and we vow to never let their stories fade into the shadows of history. It is a day to reflect upon the injustices inflicted upon them and to recognize the resilience and strength of Indigenous communities. With deep respect, we seek to heal the wounds of the past and foster a future where their spirits are celebrated, their languages and traditions are preserved, and their communities thrive. As we remember, we also pledge to build a future of healing, understanding, and reconciliation, ensuring that the voices of those who suffered are heard and their experiences never forgotten π§‘
